What would be the bomb when renting a pool home? Always nice to keep ahead of what people would enjoy on there vacation. I own a home in Emerald Island resort and it is all about keeping everyone happy that is the best advertising. Let me know what would really make your vacation great.

The house we always rent through villadirect.com has:

Pool (with fiber optic lighting)
Spa
Big Screen HDTV
DVD Player (with kids & regular DVD's)
Game room (pool, foosball table, darts, etc)
Themed bedrooms (Disney, Spiderman) for the kids
2 master bedrooms, (beautifully decorated in a beach theme)
200TC sheets
Fridge with ice maker/water
Xbox
Free long distance/local calls
Beautiful decorating without being "snobby"
Screen/sliding door to pool has a child alarm
Pool toys
Gas barbecue
Nice patio furniture
Washer/Dryer
Dishwasher
Backs to a wetland for privacy and wildlife
4 bedroom/3 bath (one with jacuzzi and one with big walk-in shower)
2 minutes to Disney
The management office has "concierge service" where you can get discounted attraction tickets and discount rental cars

And it only costs $130/night.

Love it, love it, love it.

*winks at all the Stanley Fans!!*

with food menus, local info, interspersed with some personal house information -the timer for the oven works like this, and some "feeling" information as well.. like, "sink into the (fabulously comfortable) deck lounger, and watch the sunset - now you know why we made this our choice for a home" kind of stuff ...a "guest book" section for people to leave their vacation snippets??...

I like all the creature comforts, too, like Mark suggested...but knowing that a vacation home is well loved, and celebrated, gets our vacation off to a wonderful start too...

Does that make any sense at all?? LOL!!

HTH!!

Hi,
We are an English family and the villas that set others apart have, internet access, free local & international calls, a large swimming pool, games room, themed rooms for the kids, playstation consols as well as a good size flat screen TV.
Modern decor and furniture are also a must.
We always have a great holiday in Florida and after a search on the web find some superb homes.

Makes total sense to me too. I forgot to list those in the house that we get. They have a ton of brochures (with coupons) and local info, plus the guest book (in fact some of the best Chinese food we've ever had we had delivered from a brochure at the house). Unlike others we've stayed at where it looks like to owners do the minimum when it comes to decorating, there are a lot of very nice "honey" touches (nick-nacks, details, etc).

Previous posters have such great suggestions!

How about a map of the area? (Maybe laminate it to get longevity out of it).

Directions to the hospital.....yes, I'm serious! My daugher cut her forehead open at Downtown Disney and we happened to have known how to get to Celebration Hospital. When this happened, I was thinking I did not know the closest hospital in Kissimee/192 relative to our townhome.

I know if you have a true emergency you would call 911 and be transported -- so perhaps my point is moot.

It's not something you could advertise, but I would suggest making sure the phone number for your rental house is listed on the national "do not call" list. The last home we stayed in apparently was not, and every afternoon between three and five we could count on at least three phone calls to sell us something. Very irritating when you are trying to take a nap!

Wow, same thing happened to us on our last trip, while we had not experienced at previous stays in other villas.

This will be my first time in Aug but the biggest thing for us was PRIVACY In alot of homes the we looked at backed up to 5 other poolhomes - thats not relaxing for me - Anything to keep the kids happy - I cant wait to go 35 days and counting :cheer2: :cheer2:

The things that are key for us are:
1. Crib or pack and play
2. Stroller :cheer2:
3. Alarmed doors for pool or safety fence
4. Playstation or nintendo

We look for a home that will save us room in our van, so that we don't have to bring our home with us.It's hard to fit everything in our van with the children!

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to answer. Our home is 1 year old this month. Time flies while we are having fun.
We want our guests to feel welcome and comfortable. While we do have most of what you are asking for there are some we are still missing. I am not sure when we will be able to provide some of the items.
We do not have a games room as of yet. We do have plenty of things for activities we have not spent the extra for an actual whole room. No flat screen tv's either. Maybe some day when the pocketbook permits. We are always trying to improve our home so thanks for the comments. We also would love a pool table. That is my husbands dream.
Thanks again for the info.
