My dh will do whatever his company tells him to do.
Technically they are open, but only essential personnel are allowed to come in. He's on that list but has been able to get work done from home so far. He thought he'd have to go in today but didn't.
I will continue to only go out if necessary, and I still plan on not allowing visitors (pretty much my ds's friends) until we are on the tail end of the curve.

I have been in self quarantine for 18 days and looking forward to a social distancing trip to the grocery early tomorrow morning, I hope. I have transitioned to work from home and it seems like we will be in this mode for awhile.

I think coming out of this is going to be interesting. At some point there is going to be guidance to get back to a "new normal" and even people who may be more comfortable staying home may have to return to a physical work location. Now that may be different due to social distancing rules. People who really can work from home without any issue may continue to do so and others may be asked back at different times or to rotate back into the office.

It is great to say what guidelines you will follow, but for some people at some point it will become return to work or have no job. There will be enough unemployed/underemployed by the time this is over that people may be forced back to their office sooner than they want. The flip side of that is companies are going to have to get back to normal and try to pick up where they left off.

I live in California, so we aren't being released any time soon. The moment I can, I am driving to my best friend's house and giving her a big hug. Then we are going to lunch and grocery shopping, because we are nerds like that

I would prefer to continue to isolate, but if my work requires me to return I'll have to. I hope my employers and local government listen to the health experts.

I'd have to go with "other". If the stay-at-home order is lifted, there are some things we'd resume and others we wouldn't based on conditions at the time. Honestly, my normal life has a lot of social distancing built in - I work from home, the school is the only place I'm in a group setting and it looks like we're closed for the year regardless of what the politicians do, and most of my social life (such as it is) takes place in a virtually empty library or outdoors. I'll probably steer clear of concerts and travel if I feel like the order was lifted prematurely, because those are my points of greatest exposure, but otherwise I'd feel pretty comfortable resuming my ordinary habits.

It all depends on the numbers in my area and around NYC.

DS17 still has 3 weeks planned for school to stay closed in NJ (WM). I don't see that changing because today we received email from school that children in our district have tested positive. April 20th is still the earliest day to return for now.

The lack of traffic is the only pleasant thing about this.

My Dh is considered "essential" (federal government) so he has been going to work. Opening back up will make no difference.

The President is looking for ways to reopen parts of the country. Many doctors and other officials are saying this is a bad idea. If the government says they want people to go back to work after Easter, will you do it? Personally, my family will continue to isolate until the number of new cases drops dramatically, despite what the government says.

Absolutely not. I don't see the point of following advice about medical emergencies that differs from the advice of medical professionals.

I doubt the Easter re-opening is based on more than wishful thinking so will continue to plan life as it seems to be going forward from my POV. Elder sister cancelled the family Easter dinner and that seems sensible to me.

My county already said that our order will remain in place regardless of what the President says. How can he order something reopened that he never even closed to begin with?

He can't for most of us but I guess he's using his bully pulpit to try and rally the people. 🤷‍♀️
Probably can force military bases to be opened though.

I think if schools remain closed for the rest of the year, many people will be forced to stay home.

I think we all need to stay put. This virus is not letting up anytime soon. We need to give the medical facilities, professional, etc. a chance to catch up and able time to prepare for the worse.

We have to do what our jobs dictate. We can't loose our jobs and have no income. For now, my DH can work from home, but if they call them back, he will go. I work in a food service that is doing takeout, so I am working a few days a week. I only go to work and the store, otherwise, we are all home.

Depends more on what my company says. We had a work at home order for most employees in place until April 10. That was extended today to April 17. We are an essential industry. Corporate has always been pretty tight with money, but somehow they cobbled together enough laptops for about 90 of our 120 employees to work from home. This wrapped the first week of work at home. Really, there is no hurry to get back to work in the office as the work is getting done. All 3 people in my job are working from home. Today we all got ability to answer work phones from our laptops, so it is still a work in progress.
My daughter works for the same company, she is on the list of people who are reporting to work. She would love to work from home, and that could happen, but they just started experimenting with remote work yesterday. Basically, the remote person shadowing a person in the building. 3 of the 8 people in her job are working from home.
My wife works in the same industry, all the people in her job are reporting for work. They have been slow to set people up to work remotely. Last week she was told home to stay home one day with pay, but other than that, they aren't in a hurry.
As I have posted before, the eye opening thing for my company was how many people have no internet access at home. Someone questioned whether they had unlimited data on their cell phones, but at least two of them I have communicated with have flip phones with no internet access. They are dependent on work for their internet access. But I think those folks may get MiFi if they get laptops.

Even if we can return to our actual workplace and are free to stop isolating, I sure will think twice before visiting a crowded store, seeing a sold out movie, or visiting Disney for awhile. I would have no issue hitting the beach or some stores and restaurants - you know, places that are easy to keep distance.

This virus isn't going to magically go away, regardless of what limits are lifted. I'm just as much high risk today as I will be then so I'm going to be extra cautious.

Won't change much for us. I'm essential but only work 2 days a week and am the only one in the building so I've been going to work as usual. Hubby has always worked from home. We were doing social distancing before it was a thing, we are just anti-social. Seriously, he usually only goes in the yard and to the store and drive throughs. I go to WDW twice a year, either solo or with my son. We have a RV and we tend to take it somewhere once a month, either to one of his client's out of state locations for him to work and me and dog stay in the RV and hike or wander around the campground or we take it to his parents house and camp in their side yard. They aren't well so he can visit them more often but we aren't forced to follow their schedules and I can retreat to the RV when I need to. We go to State Parks and hike around and maybe go into the nearby towns to explore and eat but we aren't really social. The only thing that has changed is I don't go to the store with him because I'm older than 60 (he isn't).

I have not stopped working. My employer has deemed me disposable essential. I work for a financial institution. I could do my job from home, but they just don't see fit for that to happen.
