Looks like this is new tagline for Disney in 2009 per the following email I just received: (NOTE: It even had a link to get in for free on your birthday!)

When you think about it, there's so much in life worth celebrating. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Reunions. Or any of life's special moments. All deserve to be wrapped in magic. So during 2009, Disney Parks will make it easier for you to magnify any celebration in wonderful Disney style.

To make your celebration even more memorable, Disney Parks will greet you with new entertainment and unique experiences that surround your moment with pure Disney magic.

Disney will even help you plan your celebrations, both big and small, with free online planning tools and celebration planners—fairy godmothers to help you plan everything from a special meal to an elaborate party only Disney could create.

In fact, when you're at the Disney Parks this year, the hardest thing for you to decide is: "What will you celebrate?"

I got that e-mail too, and it included the opportunity to register my birthday to get free admission on my birthday (and only my birthday) or a gift like a fast pass to use if I was an AP holder.

can you include the link for registering the birthdays? I don't get emails from them for some reason.

We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in WDW in July. Should I take my marriage certicate with me as proof???

A free ticket won't be "special" if you have an AP. But a Fast Pass would be nice.

AP holders can also get a gift card with the value of a one day ticket on it....$75 now?? Now that's a deal!

It's on the WDW main page about the new promotion for 2009. It's about "celebrations" but the free ticket is for your birthday only. You can register there also and they'll send you a reminder email 2 wks before your birthday with a print-out to take to the gate to get your free ticket.

I couldn't find anything like that on the WDW main page only activities you could do to make the celebrations special.

I registered for my birthday today. Told my DH that it would be a great way to celebrate my birthday! It was a nice surprise to receive that email today! :cheer2:

You can get a fast pass for you and up to 5 other people in your party! Although it looks like they will limit how many they give out and you have to get one before 11am. Or you can also choose a gift card equal in the amount for a one day Magic Your Way base ticket or choose a one-day MYW base ticket to use another time.

I hope to be celebrating overall decreased attendance to WDW.....

....and with it....perhaps the ability to walk into a restaurant and get a table.....less than a 90 minute wait for Soarin'.....the choice between several resorts to stay at....

...you know......the "good old days"

Very cool. As an AP holder, I thought we'd be getting screwed with this promotion as a free day does nothing for me. I kind of like the fast pass idea. It isn't described well but it looks like the pass is good all day for up to 5 people. That would be just as good as winning the fast pass awards in the Year of a Million Dreams program!

I'll be interested in learning more about some/any of the perks for other celebrations. DH and I will be there for our 8th wedding anniversary in June. Can't wait to return to the World!:yay:

We are doing a "Disney Family Reunion" in 2010. We started just inviting family members, but decided to start inviting everyone we know and calling it our "Disney Family". We're hoping to get several families and do some grand gatherings. I'm the main planner for hte event, so when I got the email this week, I was excited! Looking forward to it.

We'll be celebrating my graduation :cool1: However in order to celebrate that I will need to work for a while first, so we will also be celebrating my employment, LOL. Ok, I won't lie, a WDW would be just as much for me as the kids (hence my username) but I really would love to really let loose and have a good time to reward the entire family for the sacrifices made. A part of me thinks it would be a cool time to go for the Poly and then I think that could be X# of DVC points for a lifetime, LOL.

I think we're aiming for DH's birthday next October. Maybe my bday in Dec too.

I was already going to spend my 50th birthday at the Magic Kingdom. Now I get in free, how cool is that:woohoo:

Sounds like a GREAT way to celebrate your 50th! My bday(not 50th LOL) is in the same week as the 4th so I'm afraid it would be too hot/crowded, our anniversary is NYE again crowded LOL. Considering one DD bday is the Easter time I think our shot might be DH June bday or DD Aug.

I'm curious about MYW pkgs and this promo. If you've already bought passes (non AP) will they still give you the same deal they give the AP people?
