DD and her DH usually get a mix of miniature candy bars; Smarties (DGD loves those for some reason - LOL); small bags of gummy bears; tootsie rolls; etc..

I used to be the official "door opener" (while they were out TOTing with my DGD), but now that I stay at the lake beyond Halloween one of DD's in-law's comes over and passes out the candy..

No TOT's up here at all - very rural, lots of seasonal places - so the kids go over to a village about 10 miles from here..:goodvibes

We don't get trick or treater's at our house. We got some the first year, because we decorated our yard with lots of decorations. But we haven't had any since.

We bought 2 boxes of full size candy bars (60) then I also bought a box of chips. We get more and more kids every year so its hard to estimate how much to buy.

Lick-M-Aid (fun dip)
Charms blow pops
bite sized Hershey bar
gummie life savers
rice krispie treats
mini Oreos

All put into treat bags.

Chocolate! The good stuff and lots of it.
The only rule is if you are old and the costume is lame- you are getting whatever my kids bring home that they do not like. ;)

It depends on what looks good when I'm buying it. lol Usually some chocolate, something like tootsie pops or jolly ranchers, I really like those sweetart bones, those are always fun. We get a lot of ToTers, we decorate all out so we get a lot of kids.

Gotta love my DH, but boy is he clueless. I have been working on losing weight for the last year and had been commenting how I seem to have stalled out lately no matter how much I up the treadmill workout. I wake up on my birthday last month to a bag of 3 Musketeers and a bag of York Peppermint Patties. Later that day my DD gave me a 3 lb bag of Tootsie Rolls.
Wanna guess what I will be handing out for Halloween?lol

(ok, I confess the Tootsie Roll bag did get opened....)

We are in a good subdivision for ToTing. Our houses are somewhat close together, we can walk along the street, cars drive slowly, and we are gated so we don't get carloads of kids dumped here. But our house is on a cul-de-sac off the beaten path, so we usually just put our candy out and I take the kids around. This year I bought a bunch of bags of candy, got a couple free, so I am going to put it all in goodie bags and give some to DS9's class, then the rest on the porch. They will have a candy bar, dum dums, Swedish Fish, and taffy-maybe a little toy if I find some in the attic. I will probably put out 40 bags, which should be enough. When they are gone, they are gone.

We dont get ToTers here.... just my own kids :lmao: So maybe I'll hand out chores this year ;) Last year for some stupid reason I bought full size Hershey Bars... that is a bad idea when you dont get any ToTers. You just cant let them it there you know.....

Well I don't get any TOT's here at the lake, but somehow that doesn't stop me from buying some "mini size" this and that's..:rolleyes1

I bought full sized candy bars this year- I bought 5 boxes of 30 plus a bunch of bags of smaller bars..hopefully that will be enough since its a Saturday the kids will be out from like noon til 830pm! Thats a lot of time to get lots of candy! The things my daughter (and most of her friends) hate getting are those walmart popcorn balls or the bags of pretzels.

Yikes! Didn't realize it was on a Saturday this year!! Better remind my DD what day it falls on as she'll probably need more candy than usual..

We don't get trick or treaters here since there are no kids (adult community). One of the swing bands I play in is hosting a masquerade ball so we'll be there all evening, anyhow. That doesn't we won't have some candy in the house... ;)

Every year it seems like we are getting more and more kids coming around. I bought 7 bags of candy so I am hoping that is enough. I did make sure to get things I like just incase DH and I am forced to eat the leftovers :lmao:

I got Twix, Snickers, York Peppermint Patties, Dots, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, and Mini M&M's.

We just moved to our new neighborhood and no idea how many kids are really going to ToT. I asked the neighbors but they don't participate or have young children.

We have a ton of kids in the neighborhood and their is an elementary school on the other side of the neighborhood so I'm expecting a good amount. I tell Matt to make sure he picks up some candy when he is at Sam's. My sweets LOVES handing out candy and hasn't been home for this in like 3 years. He brings back 8 giant sam's size candy bags:lovestruc. I think we have enough candy for all the diser's children awake right now.:rotfl:We have snack size snickers, three musketeers, skittles, starbursts, dum-dums, hershey kisses, almon joys, jolly ranchers, and twix. I have no idea what in the world I'm going to do with all the leftover candy other than make a whole lot of candy bar cookies.

We of course might "sneak" one or two things:laughing:

My only rule for the older kids - you need not even wear a costume, but you must be polite.

The only rule is if you are old and the costume is lame- you are getting whatever my kids bring home that they do not like. ;)

Holy Moley!!:scared1: We're coming to your house!!

Ugh, we live in the woods so we don't get kids ToT'ing. :( I thought I might head over to my sister's house; she lives in town in a nice neighborhood where a lot of kids go every year.

DD13 isn't ToT'ing this year; her best friend is having a Halloween party with a bonfire and games and food and all that, and she's all revved up to go. :thumbsup2
