Hello all!!! Well, I have never done a PTR before!!! Hang with me!!! Technically, this is my 13th trip...our parents took us 3 times as a kid. A little side story---they were NOT Disney Planners like we are! And did we pay for it!! Our first family trip was 1983..I think! I was 8 years old, my little brother was 5. Guess when they took us? Spring Break!!!! Can you believe that? I still remember being soooooo tired and freaked out with the crowds. Our second trip was around 1984/5. I was around 11....June this trip...super hot and extra crowded. Third and final trip....July 1992.. I turned 18 the day after we got home. I think that was the WORST trip of my life. Literally. It was soooooo hot you could hardly stand it...we did the Splash Mtn. with excitement...as it was pretty new! We stood in that line for over 3 hours. And of course, we drove to and from Texas each time. Now, this was a nightmare as well
My parents liked to add sight seeing stops along the way home. So, the car rides seemed endless....Hence, my aversion to vehicular vacation! I am a flight girl. If it's more than 4-5 hours...put me on a plane or forget it!!!
Okay! On to my little family!Me and my dh were married right before I turned 20 and have been married for 15 years now. He truly is my Prince Charming! I love him to death!! He is so awesome! We are best friends and I know I laugh at something he says or does daily. Laughter is a big thing for me!One of my favorite Bible verses is in Prov..(15:13) "A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache cruches the spirit." If you ever meet me...I will laugh at some point!!! Dh is (among many things...) a home builder and land developer. We have had our business for almost as long as we've been married. God has truly blessed us and we are so thankful!! I am a SAHM to 3 sweet kids I will introduce you to here shortly!!! I love doing what I do and wouldn't trade a minute of it. We are also a homeschooling family. This is another tremendous blessing for us. I (we) love being with our kids so much and being able to spend so much time one on one with them. They grow up so fast!
I have been a Disney maniac all my life! Dh....not. I had to introduce him to it and I am so glad he's jumped on board with me. He's not totally flipped out about it like me, but he does enjoy it and pays for these trips with a smile on his face, and happiness in his heart. What more could a wife ask for?
This is our family in Jan 09:
Kids: DS13...He will turn 14 the day before our trip!! He is such an amazing kid!! His favorite color is red...loves Mysteries and Dogs. Has great technical talent..he inherited that from his Daddy!!! He loves the PS3 and all things relating to it! We are super picky about the games they play...and he abides with the rules. He is officially taller than me!!! He's around 5'5" or taller, I am barely 5'2". so....he is loooooving that!! He is a wonderful big brother...always has been. He was 3 1/2 when ds #2 was born, and 7 when Sis came along. First one up to help me with whatever I need. Super personality and has a knack for imitating. Can do any movie he has ever seen or anybody he's ever met!!! Never meets a stranger! This is a pic of him at Test Track (Jan 09) in the little Saturn SUV. He fell in love with it!
DS10~ He is a May baby! Got him for Mother's Day!!!! He is a tremendous man in a kid body!! His nickname is the Professor. Has been since as far back as I can remember...if you tell him something, or he hears/sees/reads it....it's locked in!!!!! He is pretty quiet...sits back and lets big brother do all the talking. Until you hit something he is interested in-then watch out!! He will talk soooooo fast and not even take a breath...lest you lose interest, or big brother once again tries to finish HIS conversation!!!! His favorite color is Blue, he's into Legos, dinos, and anything construction. He too is an awesome helper for me.Does anything I ask with never a grumble or complaint. While both boys have been raised in church and love the Lord, he has always had a very mature grasp on Scriptures and Biblical principles. Sometimes the things he says are uncanny. Like I said...a grown-up perspective in a kid body!!! We love the streetmosphere people at DHS..his favorite is Ready Freddy Fiddlesticks:

Not sure what that's about!!! She does love Butterflies...they just take her breath away! She is a sweeeeeeet girl!!! Loves her mamma too!!!!!
She is in ballet...this is her 3rd year...gotta brag!! She is good!!! She is very quiet too...another one that lets ds#1 get the limelight most of the time. But, she can make herself heard if she has something that needs sayin'!!! Very independent....I think most girls are.At least, a lot of her little friends are (maybe they gravitate toward each other?). She likes her AG dolls...we will be getting the Twins for Christmas!! She has recently fell in love with the LPS (Little Pet Shop stuff) and those little animals that are ____in my Pocket. Most recent: Jungle in my Pocket. Loves that tiny animal stuff!!! Loves to sing and dance. Can't really peg her favorite character...she does change her mind about that A LOT!! I thought this picture really captures her--she's quite shy til you get to know her, but she's always very happy!
And since ds turned 10 this year, he went to Adult so the price jumped quite a bit!!! We sometimes do surprise trips and don't tell the kids. Last one was this past Jan..so they know about this one. The younger 2 know the day we are leaving, but the older one doesn't want to know exactly yet...so we'll keep him in the dark a bit longer!!!!!! So, as you can see, we are truly blessed..have lots to be thankful for....Hence, my PTR title!!!
YAY ~ Loving the PTR so far, can't wait for more!!
I hope you and your mom have the best trip of your life!! I will have to try to find you!!!!
I won!
I won! I never win, not at bingo, lottery or drawings. What's my prize? What did I win?
When do I get it?
Yea, definitely try and find me, we can compare notes and see if we can have an accidental bump into.
ha!! I will have to try to meet you and your mom!!! I plan to do MK several days, since we are at MK, so arranging a meet should be easy! I am on the 'loop'!!! *monorail, that is~*
YAY SHAWNA!!!!! A PTR!!!!1 COOL!!!!! (yes I like exclamation marks - my fave form of punctuation!) OK! now I need to back and actually read what you wrote!
It was the Lord..he knew i was TRULY becoming frantic with that!!!
