What will the prices be at wwohp gift stores?

i recall my DH w/DS @ checkout counter in the Simpsons store @ U

DHs the type who never goes into stores nor cares what a vacation costs (he just wants to go on lots of them;))

he always would tell the kids "get whatever u want", typically they'd get nothing but a few pins over the years.

DS was simpsons craaaazy @ the time, knew he'd make up for it

I thought i'd let it play out, as i knew jr was in triple digits & decided to snap the moment, room key in his hot little hand to pay for his bounty. :laughing:Don't think i've ever heard the mr utter that phrase again.

I think the brief looks at merch on the Celebrity Apprentice a couple weeks ago shows what we have to look forward to. I'd imagine the light up, ugly looking wands that seem to be made out of plastic are probably on the lower end of the price range and the movie authentic looking ones, like you see advertised in Sky Mall among other places, are at the upper end.

I think where money is really going to start coming out of people's wallets is when they get "chosen" for houses (or have their own favorite, Griffendor, Hufflepuff, etc from the books/movies) and have the ability to buy house specific t-shirts, hats, scarves... I'm not even that interested in stuff like that, but from what they showed on the Apprentice, it's easy to see that merchandise is going to FLY off the shelves.

You are lucky all your DD12 wants is a wand.....mine is DYING to get in those stores. And I have to admit, I bet they will have some really cool stuff. Somewhere on here, they had a pic of some of the brooms.....

Wouldn't it be cool if the brooms actually flew :wizard:

Actually, the merchandise we saw in Celebrity Apprentice is not representative of what we'll see in Orlando. I work in an HP retail store in Los Angeles, and trust me, I know my HP product and their manufacturers. Everything in Celebrity Apprentice has been around for years and is available to any retailer who wants to sell it. This makes sense as the show was filmed last fall, before the manufacturers would have had a chance to finish making the new merchandise for the parks (remember, they are advertising that over 70% of product will be exclusive to the parks and new - or was it 90%?).

Now, what we saw on Ellen however, when she was in the park in the actual gift shops, was all new. There was very little that was the same. The candy all had new packaging, the scarves a new design, etc. There was a wand in the wand shop, that one of the boys was holding, that on first look seemed to be the Noble Collection's Harry Potter replica wand, but looked slightly different to me. And according to the powers that be at Universal, some dozen new wand designs were chosen for Olivanders.

I think we'll be surprised by some of the product we're about to see. All new, never seen before, bigger, better, etc. :wizard:

Hey, a really good wand should pay for itself. Just go over to the Hard Rock Cafe, and... "Accio Grey Goose!" :wizard:

I have a feeling it won't be just the kids clamoring for those wands... I was telling my sister about the projected cost of the wands (and mind you we're adults) and all she could say was "I don't care about the cost I want a wand!":rotfl: I have a feeling that summer school will be paying for all the HP merch & food. So much for saving to move out!
