We might have to cancel a cruise for May that we booked with all of our 2008 and 2009 points. Will they turn into reservation only points meaning they can be used at Disney resorts but not DVC?? I know they told me when I made the ressie but I didn't think we were going to have to cancel. TIA
Yes, all points returned to your account from a cancelled cruise will be in "Reservation Status" which means they can only be used for a non-DVC reservation. They cannot be used at a DVC resort and cannot be used for a World Passport Collection reservation, but may be used for Concierge Collection, Disney Collection, Adventurer Collection and Adventures by Disney.
They cannot be banked and will expire at the end of the Use Year of the cancelled reservation. Most of those options will require another $95 registration fee with the exception of reservations at DL resorts.
No you cannot rent out cruise reservations. If you call to change the name of the main person in the cabin, you have to cancel and rebook at current pricing. Plus that incurs a second $95 booking fee, along with the $95 paid initially.
Thanks for the help. The $95 fee sucks but that is the rule. We are going to have to cancel due to the fact that I am pregnant and will be too far along at the time to sail. We will figure it out.
