Going to Naples to visits in-laws this winter and of course I'm
scheming a way to get a day at WDW. The flight stops in Orlando
before heading to Naples. If we don't get on the Naples flight,
head to WDW in a rental then to Naples. Would this mess up our
return tickets. My question is if this can be done.

yes it will cancel your return trip. why not buy a tkt going into mco and returning from naples?its called an open jaw.

I would check with the airline. My husband does something close, but not exactly what you are describing. He flies frequently with Southwest. He will book a flight 7 days in advance to save his company a few bucks. Sometimes at the last minute he will need to change the time of his departure. If he cancelled and rebooked he would lose the advance purchase rate on both legs of the trip. So, to get around it, he always books a one way flight with the new time and just does not show upn for the original. He is still able to use the return ticket that was booked as a round trip and always receives a credit for the part not taken. Don't you just love Southwest?

Hope that wasn't too confusing.
