Hi there-

Just a quick question for DIY brides out there? Obviously, Disney are notorious for charging quite a lot of money for their decorations and to save on pennies, I was wondering what they would set up for you in terms of DIY? I know a few people have had aisle runners laid down by Disney ($25?) I'm presuming that they would charge to set up DIY centrepieces and table decorations as well? I love the idea of oversized martini glasses for centrepieces but would quite like to buy them because I want to keep them for the house :goodvibes Would they set those up and fill them with water and candles that I bought and shipped over? For example, I'm thinking of making my own place cards and table names etc.? How much do they charge for that? Or do they not do it at all?

Would be grateful for any advice on this aspect :)

My daughter is getting married in Disney. We haven't met with the planner yet but my understanding is that Disney vendors must be used.

i believe there are rules as well concerning where the wedding/reception is as to what things can be used DIY (or outside wise) but they will set up a minimal amount of things - i made our place cards, i made out table markers. i think i’ve seen things quoted like 1 item per person or something (like they would set out DIY favors for example). i doubt that (even for a set up fee) they are going to place and totally set up any kind of center piece as you describe. usually, if you are doing that DIY thing, you are going to need to supply the people to set up and scratch whatever it is you are setting up. DFTW is super helpful, but not that helpful :thumbsup2

For things like favors and place cards, Disney will set out a few (I am remembering 4 pieces, but maybe not) without a fee, then an hourly charge to set the rest.
whether you can have DIY centerpices depends on where the party is. In park locations, public spaces like Sea Breeze Point and Atlantic Dance Hall require Disney to supply decor and floral. Ariels, Whitehall room, etc. would allow your plan, but I think sambycat is right. Disney may not be willing to assemble centerpieces, but you can have somebody do it for you.
