What will be new this year?

Hi everyone! I am trying to convince my family that another fall visit is needed this year. We were in WDW last year in late August/early September. What will be different by this fall? I am making a list to try and convince them. Any help is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

I don't actually know if there will be anything new at the parks, but there can always be something new to you. We always do something new. Hoop Dee Doo Review, Kusarfari bakery, a different resort with its table service restaurant, sitting down to watch a parade, fireworks, or the Banjo Brothers and Bob instead of walking past, spending time in an inoventions exhibit, designing a car at Test Track instead of using the FP+ line and bypassing it (we liked it a lot better), 'Ohana, letting our daughter ride some roller coasters three times in a row, and trying the deluxe dining plan. Those are just some of the "new" things we did in the past year. Good luck!

I completely agree. There's always a new experience to try at WDW. Plus, depending on how late in September you go, they might add new things to the Not So Scary Halloween Party as well.

They replaced the lasers at Illuminations at Epcot, but also shut down Maelstrom and cut a lot of entertainment in world showcase. The Frozen retheme of Maelstrom won't be done this year.

DHS has closed the backlot tour, American Idol, and the Jack Sparrow experience. Nothing has been announced to replace those yet (nor would anything likely be finished by that time of year) The sorcerer mickey hat will be gone, but the new ending film for the Great Movie Ride may be up by then.

More of Disney Springs will be open.

Really there is a net loss of things this year since that time.

The Food and Wine Festival also begins in September (towards the end of the month). I agree with a lot of the posters - there is always something new to do! Rent Sea Racers, explore the Boardwalk area, take a surrey ride, new restaurants, Pirates/Illuminations cruises...I always say I could spend a year there and not run out of things to do!

When did they replace the lasers in Illuminations?!

Mid December.

This is a good year to skip if you are frequent visitors the parks with all the construction and rides down and nothing new. Pirates of the Caribbean will also likely be down for 6 months starting May-ish. (Especially in AK, MK (Hub). the back half of DHS basically empty, and Maelstrom down)

That is not what I want to hear! Why is Pirates of the Caribbean going to be down for so long? Is it really more construction?

I know that there is also something new to do. Just this time we draw a character at Hollywood Studios. It was so much fun!

The standby line at Peter Pan has been updated. (We were last there this past August too, so I haven't seen it myself.)

party:First we were there at WDW with you the first week of Sep last year :smooth: . I think you get a new trip every time so hope that you can get the family to go again this year . We are lucky we are back to Disney again in Sep yeah

I hate to say it, but this year would be a good year to do other Florida fun such as Universal, Sea World, Dolphin Quest, Lego Land, etc. instead. If you've never been, that would all be brand new and new can be fun even if it isn't Disney. Then you could return to the mouse in 2016 or 2017 with a lot of new things to see.

More of Downtown/Disney Springs will be open. A couple of waiting areas/lines were updated (Peter Pan, Pooh). Splitsville is adding live music on certain days.
And maybe you could try a tour or new restaurant or something like that so you can experience something new.
