What will be different with reopening of Small World?

Hmmmm! That would be interesting. I thought they were just giving it a facelift.

We were looking over IaSW last night discussing this. They are still doing outside work that can be seen over the barricade wall.

When this first closed, rumor was they were changing exits, entrances, etc, and even incorporating the old skyway building into IaSW.
I have not seen any change on this, so far.

I have also heard they are making it more like IaSW at DL.

Only time will tell I guess. WDW IaSW REALLY needed a rehab.

Wonder if they will SOMEHOW work Stitch in? :rotfl:

From what I can remember reading on these boards . . . I believe they removed asbestos (sp?) and have made the attraction capable of being changed for a Christmas version.

To seeing it on our June vacation I know it may seem corny but it is one my favorites. It really was in need of major rehab and I am excited about seeing what was done. :earsboy: :sunny: :flower:

Much to my ds's 14 and 11 and dh's dismay I've put IaSW on MY top 10 list of things to do. I got very excited when I heard it was being refurbished. This will be our first trip to WDW so my first impression of IaSW will be of the new and improved one...

I really doubt they will make any major changes to IASW, ie. incorporating Disney characters etc.... IASW is a Disney Classic, I really don't think they'll change the "Spirit" or "Story" of the attraction.
My understanding is that the Dolls are all getting new costumes & they are adding 2 new Dolls & doing structural/mechanical upgrades.

Yep - most of you have the right idea. They are getting updated technology, cleaning up everything and redoing the same basic ride and giving new costumes. They are also making a larger line area for entering and exits from what I understand and are making the ride more like the DL ride. I've never been clear about the difference in the DL and WDW ride, but it seems ours will be adjusted to be more like theirs. That's pretty much it.

Also, it will have the look of the original at DL from the outside. I can't wait!!!

Will they be done by mid April? I reallly love that ride and want to take my daughter on it - she's 6. princess:

Or maybe they could add targets to the dolls and give everyone laser guns like on Buzz. That would be interesting. :teeth:

I hope they do not incorporate Stitch into this. I used to love him but I was so sick of him after this last trip. :sad2:

So glad to see that some one agreed with us my 3 kids made us do this ride six times in a row at DLP and when we left the ride that was exactly what we said. From the other posts perhaps we missed something. Your quote made me laugh so much that i spilt my drink all over my keyboard. Nice one !!

The Disneyland ride appears to be longer if I remember right. The rooms are much smaller, but there are many more of them. It's not quite so overwhelming with 100,000 dolls singing in one room as WDW.
