Happy Friday Friends

#1 - IRISH FISHERMAN SWEATER - My DD27’s godmother is from Ireland and bought this for my DD when she was little. I love this sweater! I was just looking at it the other day. It hangs in the playroom closet with other kids clothes I’ll never get rid of.

#2 - MY DOG’S BREED - He’s a Havanese, which is a breed originally from Cuba

#3 - PRICELESS BOWLS - These are plain white bowls that were my great grandma’s from Hungry. These bowls are not fancy, but to me are priceless. They came to America, went back to Hungry and then came back to America without breaking.

The ETA feature on my GPS

This is great until there's an accident or some horrendous traffic on your route, and you see your ETA getting later and later...

Afternoon all,

1. WDW - I can get away with including this being from the UK

2. Cars - another vote for this although for me I always go for German cars, my last 4 have been.

3. Food - seconding this too and like Leebee I won't be able to choose just one cuisine or dish. Just grateful for all types of food in general.

Relatives that came before me - This is not meant to be political or controversial. Just noting that most of us are descended from people that came here from other places...for any number of reasons. On my mom's side, I have relatives that came here from Belarus and Austria in the early 1900s. I think there were also a few more distant ones on that side from Ukraine and Poland. On my dad's side, I have people from Ireland, Germany and England...some whom came over not too long after the Mayflower.

My Favorite Dog Breeds - While my years volunteering at animal shelters has made me tend to favor rescue mutts, there are certain breeds on my list that I LOVE and would really like to own one day. Topping that is the Great Pyrenees, which hails from France. After that is the Newfoundland, which is of Canadian origins. Then you've got the Bernese Mountain Dog, which comes from Switzerland (although, with their recent popularity I might be more inclined to go with their cousin, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog). In the fourth spot, we've got the Samoyed of Siberia/Russian. And rounding out the top five...the Tibetan Mastiff. It's a breed I'm more likely to admire than own due to a number of issues, but it's origin is right there in its name. For that reason, number six (which changes all of the time between working, sporting, and herding dogs...but is usually something more reasonable to own), could be the Leonberger (Germany), the English Setter (England, Wales, France), the Borzoi (Russia)...actually in the hound group, Flat Coated Retriever (England), Irish Water Spaniel (Ireland), Bearded Collie (Scotland), Old English Sheepdog (England), or the Bouvier des Flandres (France). I also would consider a Standard Poodle as they are really just glorified retrievers. There's more, but you get the idea. Yes...you can probably tell I was glued to Westminster earlier this week! I also really like the Dutch Keeshond but they are a little small for my tastes. Super sweet breed though.

Brie - While I rarely eat cheese, brie is one of my favorite indulgences if I do. I prefer it on its own or a savory presentation either en croute or accompanied by various hams and salamis with fresh bread. Its origin country is France.
