What/who is 'Palo?'

I've never seen this question posted before.

Yes, we know Palo as the wonderful restuarant on the Magic and Wonder. But what is it from which Disney story, if any.

At the character breakfast onboard, I could of sworn I heard Chip n' Dale singing the phrase 'Palo, Palo.' Am I correct? (hope I didn't just embarrass myself.) :bitelip:

Palo's is an upscale restaurant at level 10 (top) of Magic (maybe Wonder).

They serve brunch, tea and dinner. A service charge of $10-or-$15 to go there for dinner and $5 or 10 for brunch, tea.

It is a great place. It is also very hard to get a ressie, but you can get in (unlike Cindy's Breakfast).

I would highly recommend it. See if you can sign-up on line, or be the first one there at board on.

Second spot to be - is at the Spa.

Hope that helps.

 Mickeyhugger...

Palo is a stick...they are used to push (row if you will) the canal boats in Italy

at least that's what I have been told :)

Yes, a palo is a pole.

You know those striped poles in Venice that gondolas are tied to? That's a palo.

And that's why the name of the restaurant on the Disney Magic is Palo, not Palo's. It's not a place owned by a guy named Palo.

So, does anyone know..... per the OPs question, if/what this has to do with Disney? Was it in any movie? I guess I could google it if noone knows..... good questions BTW, OP!

So why on Earth would they name the best restraunt for a POLE? :rotfl2: LOL. There must be some connection to Disney. :confused3

Maybe because it is at the back of a gondola and pushes you forward on a romantic journey over the water.

PS Everything sounds better in Italian. Guisseppe Verde is just Joe Green in English.

Something like that! lol

As far as I know, its just a name for the restaurant. I'm pretty sure not every place on the ships has a Disney sort of connected name. Well, other than it is owned by then anyway. lol

Palo is not part of a Disney movie, as far as I know. I have seen it said on this board that the restaurant was named Palo in honor of where the ships were built--that is, in Italy. Why they chose the italian word for "pole", I don't know for sure, but I assume it has something to do with the Wonder and Magic being Italian-made ships that transport peopleto romantic destinations, something like the gondolas in Venice.

:rotfl2: I love that line, especially Joe Green! Since I'm half Italian I, of course, have to agree with you! Ciao!!!! (bye)

Next you're going to tell me that Parrot Cay, Topsiders, Sessions, Diversions, the Cadillac Lounge, and the Promenade Lounge aren't based on Disney movies either. How disappointing! :)
