What/Where to eat before WDW Marathon?

In my best effort to return this thread to civility :rolleyes1 :

I am travelling solo and I am entered into the Goofy; I'll be at POP for the Fri. WISH meet, but have no plans for Saturday's dinner prior to the marathon. It would be nice to meet up for an early meal with some others. I'll play it by ear and keep checking the posts. :)

I am also traveling solo, but just doing Donald this year (Goofy for nepatsBill in 2009!). I don't know if these are official (and they are definately not civil), but there has been talk of some Goofyers, Donalders and Screamers stopping for a pint or two at the Rose & Crown when it opens after the half and/or full and talk of some Donalders hitting Beaches & Cream for Kitchen Sinks after the half. Neither is probably good carb in-take for the full the next day, but I think most of us don't bite and would probably be entertaining company. I am also planning to play dinner on Saturday by ear as I don't know if those doing the Goofy/full marathon will be working on their game faces by then.

The talk is R&C after the Goofy. EPCOT will be open by the time we finish the marathon. R&C is half way back from the finish line to BWV. We will be very tired and need a rest spot. The rest might last awhile:confused3 .

Future World (11:00)and all booths don't open until 11:30 so we will be back at BWV icing and talking a nap by than. We usually just chill in our room for dinner. We could be game for some BW food stop for lunch. We usually have a chicken sandwich at ESPN for protien load before light carbs for dinner.

Dave is spreading evil and trouble through the WISH World. It's as simple as :teacher:

I figure that by the time I finish the half, regain some semblence of coherentness, and walk through Future World (maybe stopping for a sweaty ride or 2 (sorry other WDW guests)), R&C should be open.

Robert, buddy, you are throwing me under the bus here. Give me a break huh, I mean after all I'm going to cheer for the cowboys and help you get beat up.

Yes we are in for the beer at the R&C. On Saturday we will be wondering for a while after the half and eat an early dinner probably about 4ish, then turn in early.

After the Marathon on sunday, R&C then a nap and whatever night life trouble we can get into at Pleasure Island. There is a free ticketr to PI in the race packet. Either Dancing or the Comedy club or a combination, Dinner at the House of Blues would be fun to. We will start firming stuff up after ToT.

Bill if Robert needs a nap on Saturday we can meet for a beer anyway.

Despite my ability to besmirch reputations, am I allowed to go the pub too on Sunday - I am English you know, it's the law that we consume alcohol post race!!! Boyfriend will even be there before it opens to grab us a table - that's where he cheers me on from in Epcot which I'm sure isn't hugely fair. Helen

Just a question: If we want to go back into Epcot to R&C after the marathon, we're going to need a ticket, right? It's not a problem for me or John as we will have APs, but neither one of my kids do, and I don't know if it's worth wasting a whole days ticket since they will probably be too tired to do much of anything else. This will be DD's (23) first Goofy and DS's (22) first full marathon ever.

We can still meet later for Pleasure Island, our race packets will have a free ticket for PI and there are lots of places there we have never been to. There are a few others planning the PI trip. That is especially fun because it is only the racers and their friends and family that night. Lots of people walking around moaning and groaning and just having a huge time.

We have to eat dinner somewhere also if you have any ideas?

Nancy's family and mine have a 7:15 reservation for Ohanas at the Polynesian. We're hoping to catch the fireworks there during dinner. If I recall correctly, Sunday is EMH at MK so the park won't close until 11pm. We may want to drop into MK before heading over to PI......or we may be just so wiped out, we can't do anything!

Dave -- If I extend my stay one night and go to PI, are all the clubs open for the party. I always wanted to try the Adventurers Club, but have yet to make it there. Also, is the Comedy Club open. I don't know if I'll be up for any of the dance clubs, especially without my lifetime dance partner being with me. Plus, I wouldn't want to have to embarrass you old guys (think embarrassing like Mean Gene the Dancing machine). ;)

Bill, I'm not sure what all is open, I'm assuming it all is. I would like to checkout the adventurers club and the comedy club also. We landed at the 8 track and stayed last time. I had to little hotties with me that wanted to dance. After they wore me out they danced with each other. I had to run a few guys off that wanted to take my extra lady home.

But heck yea join us there, I can't remember who else is going but somne are, darn I hate being senile.
