What were YOUR wedding colors?

Again, I'm blown away by these color combos. All I'm seeing in the magazines and online are very modern, hip colors: tiffany blue and red, chocolate brown and pink, etc. They're pretty but I want something different and original, like you all had!

Would any one mind sharing pictures?

I would, but our scanner is broken. :guilty: Along with peach roses, I had white and coral colored roses, too. :flower3:

Ok, I was married in the early 90's, in my defense. :rotfl: I was also broke, so we did rental dresses for my bridesmaids. They were actually very pretty, if a little...errrr... poofy. They were this exact color of dark teal.

About a month before the wedding, we received a call from the rental shop. My maid of honor's dress had been totally spoiled by someone, and they only had a few other dresses left in her size. The least objectionable was a cotton-candy pink color. Still poofy. :rolleyes1 So that ended up being my accent color by default.

This REALLY annoyed my husband's best man. He was a short, cantankerous, crusty little Englishman. We love him dearly, but the look on his face when we changed his cumberbund from dark teal to pretty pink was just hysterical. To his credit though, he played along with only minor grumbling.

My dress was white, off the shoulder cap sleeves, full long skirt, no train, with tiny pink and teal ribbon rose accents. I didn't want stark white, wanted some bits of color. My mom sewed my dress. And swore if I ever asked her to sew something of that complexity again she would behead me. i wore no veil, only flowers in my hair.

The groom and the groomsmen had black tuxedos, tails and all. The groomsmen had ties and cumberbunds (is that really how that is spelled??) in dark teal (and cotton candy pink LOL), DH's tie and cumberbund were white.

My flowers were pink roses, with blue-green greenery and white accents.

Got married in 1991.

My dress was white (as opposed to ivory). DH wore tails with a white vest & tie. The boys had classic black tuxedos with balc vest & tie, I think. I don't think they all had tails, but I'd probably have to look at a picture to be 100% sure.

My girls wore teal. Flowers were basically varying shades of pink. My bouquet was mostly white, but I think thye thrw a little pink in it.

It looked nice.

That dove gray and royal blue combo sounds stunning!

LOL we matched!! :lmao:
I think it was a 90's thing. ;)

My wedding was in October (1998)...the bridesmaids all wore hunter green, but it looked black in the photos. The flowers were yellow, orange, and red, with some purple in the matron of honor's bouquet.

I don't have any photos scanned...

Since we had a winter wedding our colours were ivory, green and red. I wore an ivory coloured dress and so did the flowergirls. Our flower arrangements were made of deep red roses, deep green leaves, holly and other "wintery" flowers and small white flowers which I don´t know the name of.

I think it was a very 90's kind of thing. :lmao:

I got married in 1990.

I wore white - it was gorgeos and I had this head-dress that cost as much as my dress. The front was big satin roses and 100 strands of lily of the vally hung down the back. But you know what NO bow :rotfl: I was sooo different. I had big roses on my butt. :rotfl2:

Now the color of the girls dresses was described as green but it was very close to the color of Sorcha's dresses. It was irridescent even - only the undertone was black. They were gorgeous. In fact they really did get worn again. All the girls cut them short and wore them to Christmas parties. They wore a hair clip that was a white silk camelia (sp?) with green leaves.

My flowers were pink and white. At the reception the accent linens were pink. My cake was white with pink frosted flowers and a Lladro cake topper.

DH and the groomsmen wore Dark Grey.

And here's a fourth one for you.
My best friend also had a teal/grean wedding with pink accents and her DH wore dark grey too - slightly more aquaish shade of teal though. Her dress however was off white. And all the dress were laden with bows. Her dress had 54 bows and 100 yards of lace ruffles and the bridesmaid dresses were shiny satin and had 27 bows! and about 50 yards of ruffles :rotfl:. I recently donated this bridesmaid dress to the school drama department. They were doing a reproduction of Gone with the wind and needed ball gowns. Can you picture it. OMG. She got married in 1989 - we thought we were the bomb. :rotfl2:

My colors were red and cream

My mother wore a cream suit with red blouse, and DH's mother wore the opposite. My dress was a heavy cream, the candle-lighters (my cousins) seen here in the picture wore cream and red print dresses, the Bridesmaids red dresses. Groomsmen black tuxes red cummerbunds. Groom back and black

Well I never had a wedding the first time. So, DH and I recently had our vow renewal at WDW and had the wedding we never had but always wanted.

My dress was ivory. DH wore a chocolate brown tux with ivory shirt, tie and vest. DS wore the exact same thing and DD wore a chocolate brown dress.

The floral was all fall colors, deep red, orange, yellow, red, green, brown. My linens were chocolate brown. You can see it all by following the links in my siggy.

On further review, DH had a red cummerbund and a black tie! It was almost 22 years ago....

I had a hard time deciding on colors too so I ended up going with black, white and red. Girls wore black. All the decorations and stuff were black and white and my flowers were red roses. It was simple and I LOVED it!

That was mine, except with ivory and dark red. I let my bridesmaids pick their own black dresses out or use one they already had, used black magic roses, etc. Simple and elegant.

Your pictures are gorgeous and you are such a beautiful bride!!! :goodvibes

Again, a big thanks to everyone who's sharing their colors! I'm making a list! :thumbsup2

For us, we're going for a plumy kind of color... the bridesmaids will be in black, flowergirls in a gorgeous plum color.

I had gold and shades of pink. I let the BM's all choose their own shade of pink and their own dress. I think it was pretty! :goodvibes

My wedding was in 1988 (ugh! that sounds like a long time ago) and our colors were lavender and silver. The bridesmaids had lavender dresses but my sister, the maid of honor, had a darker dress - more of an orchid. The guys wore silver tuxes that were pretty much a light gray. My bouquet was made of silver roses which are a beautiful shade of lavender. I loved that color combination!

Beautiful!! :lovestruc:lovestruc

Did you get married at Sea Breeze Point?? DFi and I wanted a Disney wedding so badly but deciding against it for the sake of my parents' wallet. We are having a DisneyMOON though!

We got married on Valentines Day. My dress was white. The girls dresses were black velvet with a red tie/bow. They were also short dresses (like just past knee length) The guys wore black tuxes with red cummerbands. It was really nice

DH and I had an outdoor wedding in 1991. I wore a Jessica McClintock off white full length gown- it was a typical early 90's dress with a big 'ol butt bow, poofy sleeves, boat neck, and pointed waist with full skirt. All the men in the wedding party wore black pants and dk gray cutaway morning coats with gray striped ties.

My bridesmaids had their dresses made- we found the same exact Jessica McClintock dress pattern as my gown and had them made in a print fabric. It had a white background, and was an allover green ivy print with scattered tiny fuschia flowers- tea length with the obligatory big butt bow. The girls wore Sam & Libby flats with the dresses (the ones with the bows on the toe), and carried white baskets overflowing with ivy and fuschia flowers instead of bouquets. So cute, and so "outdoor wedding"!!

So, I guess the color scheme was white, fuschia and green.

We just attended a very 'fancy' wedding in Houston for DH's niece and she did it all in black and white. It was beautiful. Know what? Nearly all the guests were wearing black too. It was quite striking. White flowers with silver vases on the tables. She had each bridesmaid choose a black dress they loved and that was it. They were all different but all very dressy. I loved it. I think everyone was very comfortable in the wedding party. The guys wore tuxes but not vests or tails.

She was going to use red roses inside but changed her mind and I think it was perfect.

I got married in 1973. One of my bridesmaids wore pink, one light blue, one yellow, and one orchid. The ushers had matching colors. Hmm some of the things I did. But it was a pretty wedding!

Mine was white, red, and yellow...we eloped with a small reception afterwards...DH and my best man wore black suits with Disney ties and my maid-of-honor wore a pretty floral dress.

I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding on saturday and their colors are cornflower blue and silver. It's going to be such a beautiful wedding, I can't wait. :)
