Not that lightningcoachs was weird, but it made me thing because of some of the responses.

Anyways, I just found out yesterday that if you have a chimnea, you need to get a fire permit everytime you use it. The weird thing is too they don't cost anything. So the fire dept has to come out everytime you want to use it. Dumb, dumb, dumb!!!

Until a few years ago, we had Blue laws here regarding shopping on Sunday. You could only buy grocery related items, light bulbs or underwear (!?) before 1:30 on Sunday. They still have that law in the city a few miles away.

Along with those Sunday laws, you were not allowed to buy an alcoholic beverage on Sunday at all. It was always fun to be in a restaurant on a Sunday night and watch someone from out of town try to order a beer along with his dinner.

The bars close at 12:00 a.m. Saturday night-another one of those "Sunday" laws. After all, if you stay up drinking until 2:00 a.m., you can't get up for church in the morning!

And the really funny thing is that with all these anti-alcohol laws, we are the only state that still requires minibottles in bars-which guarantees the customer a full 1 and 1/2 servings of alcohol in their drink...Go figure..

I live in SC, the buckle of the bible belt..
