What "weird" foods do you eat?

Eeeewwwwww!!!!! My DH LOVES this gross sandwich! He thinks I'm gross when I put ketsup on my cooked greens (turnip or collards). I guess we're even! NO Hoghead cheese is way more yuck! He wins.

Peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches

Take two slices of bread, spread peanut butter on one side of each slice, top with mini marshmallows, and place under a broiler until the marshmallows are just turning brown. slap both peanut butter sides together and eat while it's chewy gooey hot!

That sounds GOOD! I'll have to try it.

My DH gags when I eat the fat on my steak and pork. The more fat the tastier the meat! :thumbsup2 I also like to eat cream cheese by itself.

My mom likes tomato sandwiches.. Just take 2 pieces of bread and squirt some ketchup on it.. yuck.. she also likes syrup on bread.. and mayo sandwiches.. Nothing else on the bread but mayo.. :rotfl:

She also eats salt on watermelon.. :sad2:

I like peas with green olives. Just slice green olives, saute the olives in some butter and add to lightly boiled frozen peas. It's the only way I'll eat peas now (except when they're raw of course).

I also like to mix real bacon pieces, carrot slices and sliced green olives with a little basalmic vinegar for a nice salad. Yummy!

I don't consider this at all weird because of my Italian heritage but many people don't like my favorite vegetable, broccoli rabe sometimes referred to as rappini. It's a somewhat bitter broccoli and admittedly, is something of an acquired taste. Sauteed with garlic and olive oil--there's nothing better in my book!

Some more "weird" things I like. I guess since it's been mentioned but I didn't think of it as weird, I LOVE blue cheese, and I love blue cheese dressing on most anything. I love feta too, by the hunk. I put sugar and milk in my grits, it's tasty but like it salty and buttery too. I love fried squash dipped in dressing. Now I'm hungry thanks!

I love hunks of feta, too! On cruises, I go thru the buffet and come back with a plate of feta and black olives. That is my idea of a feast! :wave2:

HOLY COW!!! I am not the only one, wait until I tell my DH. I love a bologna ketchup and cheese sandwich, with Funyons of course. :thumbsup2

I now have another new best friend  bologna/cheese and ketchup rocks :teeth:

Sour cream is a favorite. Macaroni and sour cream, with lots of Morton's Lite salt. Sour cream bread, again with Morton's Lite salt. (Has to be lite, don't ask me why) :confused3

Another weird one is what we call bucca. Basically, it's just fried dough (eggs, flour & milk) chopped up into bite size pieces and then we sometimes top it with vinegar. Most of the inlaws in our family won't even try it but I say YUM!

Oh, and mayo (Kraft only) sandwiches with dill pickles rule!

Oh! Just thought of another one! Toasted PB & J sandwiches. YUM. You make them just like toasted cheese, but with PB & J. the PB gets all melty, and the J gets all warm.......yummmmmmmm....... :goodvibes

I have a really weird sandwich that I love to eat. Toasted wheat bread slathered with Miracle Whip, two pieces of Genoa salami, then I add sauteed zucchini (cut long ways) with onions and mushrooms and then put it in the broiler to melt the pravalone cheese on top. YUMMMMMM

I haven't had them in years, but when I was growing up we loved to go to my Grandma's and eat fried frog legs that my uncle had fixed. He also made great quail.

We have this family dish we call "potato noodles." You grate potatoes until they are mush, then spoon them into boiling water bit by bit to form noodles. When they are solid, you then fry them in pork fat. Serve them with sauerkraut. They are a big pain in the rear to make, but we looove them! Another weird thing we eat is liver sausage. It comes in a ring like bologna. Slice it, fry it, and put it on toast! Yummy!!! :goodvibes and creamed herring! Straight from the jar! Can you tell we are Polish and German???

Oh, and Liver and Barley...that's one of my dad's favorites! You take already cooked mashed-up liver (either beef or chicken) and already cooked barley, mix them together, put in a baking pan, 350 for 20 minutes, let it cool, cut into squares and fry it up or spread it on saltines. Mmmmm, that brings back memories!

And OMG, pickled herring!! That's one of my favorites of all time!! I force Husbear to go to the Norwegian restaurant at EPCOT just so I can have pickled herring!!

Anyone eat liver pudding? It is soooooo good on white bread with Duke's mayo. DH frys his until it is a little burned, but I like mine straight out of the frig. :cloud9:

Wow, most of this thread is really making me hungry....
