First time going to WDW and we'll be there from Sept 22-30, staying at Pop Century!!

Hey we'll be neighbors for the night, lol We'll be at the pop from Sept 29 - Oct. 4. This will be our second time at the pop within one year, if you haven't stayed at the pop yet, I think you'll thoroughly enjoy it, as much as we did.

Can someone tell me what the weather and crowds are like during the 2nd week of Sept?? Im thinking about moving my vacation up if I can get the free dining.

Bethnde1:I'm glad to hear you like Pop Century so much! Since it's our first time, we were just hoping for the best but we feel pretty confident in our choice after reading all the great reviews on these boards about PC. We're just thrilled that we could add two extra nights to our stay because of free dining! By the way, which buldings have you stayed in? We're hoping for 60's lakeside.

REMEMBER: This is the extreme as far as weather and crowds
I can tell you that we went to Disney from 9/1-9/12 in 2004. Well, I knew while planning it that this month is their Huricane month. Then we knew two days before the trip that they were going to get slammed with the Hurricane right in the middle of the state---Yes, the Orlando area. The kids and I flew out on Wednesday, against our family's wishes, but we knew we'd be safe once we got there (my fiance was due to fly down the next night, and there weren't any planes coming down. He didn't end up in Orlando until that Monday)TALK ABOUT ONE CRAZY TRIP :scared:! First of all, it is HOT during this month. Second of all, we knew when it took us 3 hours to get to WDW from MCO (their airport) :headache:, which is normally a 20 minute trip, we were in trouble (yup, we were heading towards the storm, while every FL resident was on every possible road/hwy to get the heck out of there, talk about us being nuts :rotfl:! The day before the storm the park was empty, and we had a blast :woohoo:. So, I took the kids to a local WMart  and bought a bunch of things to do and flashlights too, lol..We were off property that year, but if we would have been on property their hotels had set up a lot of fun things to do for the kids  (that's what we get for attempting to stay off WDW land :cutie: ) For the 1st time in history, WDW was closed two days straight. When they re-opened we literally had the park to ourselves the 1st day, and almost the next day too :woohoo:. While it is their rainy season, after the Hurricane, it only rained half of another day. We did get to the waterpark, which is why we went there this particular time to begin with. Anyhow, I swore we'd never come back in Sept again. That was until they offered us the "bounce back" program :thumbsup2 when we were there in December, and we couldn't pass it up. We selected the last day of their special which was 9/29 and we're staying until 10/8 (we just upped our stay, for more days, yay!) this year :dance3: (their bb program is effective the whole time as long as we went one elgible day).
THE NORM: As you'll see from my siggy line, anytime school's in session, it's the best time to go. We went this past December, during the cheerleading shows and we're talking thousands of girls and no good adr's were available. We were scared! Yet, it still wasn't bad! You'll always see more ppl on the w/e's (including Fridays and Mondays) but still hardly any lines. We wouldn't attempt a trip there except school time, but again this trip my girls lose 5 days of school, for 11 days there, not bad!

btW---6 years old is such a fun age, is this her princess: 1st trip?

 I am so sorry, I paid no mind to what our building number/name was, instead only how to get there,. I can tell you that we asked for a
1st flr. room (we had to fit a wheelchair in the room) and we asked to be by the building to catch buses, food court, etc. Well, when you walk outside the F.court the 1st building to your left and the room all the way on the other end was ours. We loved it! It was close to a pool on the other side, the lake was around the corner from our room (some good pictures were taken there), and it was perfect :thumbsup2 . If it's during their slow season, you can ask for the same, but if you're by the lake, then you probably have a great room! Anyhow, that free ddp, is totally awesome, :woohoo: it's the only reason we're returning so soon.

Thanks for the response Bethnde1. :)

hello again :) ! I'm confused, are you going to Disney in September since you were asking about the weather, or are you going in 8 months? I saw your ticker and I was confused from that point on, but hey, that's normal for me, Your little girl is going to be so excited and will have so much fun. My girls never get surprised, because I start getting so excited and end up either telling them, or I talk about the hints and they always figure it out  Her birthday will be the 12th of Oct. but while we're away, she's going to have a birthday celebration everyday, I've got a whole slew of surprises up my sleeve, well that's if I can keep it a surprise.

Right now my package is booked for December but Im contemplating changing it to Sept to get the free dining.

:rotfl2: ok, now I totally feel stupid since I have been to the MNSSHP, and loved it! While on the subject, does anyone know when this starts? We'll be there through 10/8 and was wondering if it would have been started by then.

Yup, you will be all set!;) It starts on September 14th.... (actually, maybe even the week before... not positve!)
