What week for Dec 2005?

We're starting to plan our Christmas 2005 trip. I am trying to decide on the week that will be the best for our family to go. The oldest DD will just be 5 so pulling her from kindergarten is not a problem. We have never been this time of year and want to do MVMCP. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We're going Dec 3-10, 2005 and staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Our boys will be 6, 4 and 1.5 then. The only thing about our time frame is that apparently the Pop Warner people will be there that same week. But, from what I've been reading, they don't affect things that much unless you are staying at the same resort as them. (I believe they stay mostly at the Value Resorts, and if they fill those up, they move up to the Moderates.) Otherwise, I think this is a great time to go...atleast I hope it will be!

We are also planning a December 2005 trip but due to dd who is in middle school we will probably have to be there Dec 23 thru the 31. The only down side to these dates I have been able to find is MVMCP will be over before we get there and I am sure the crowds will be larger due to school vacations. I would take her out a couple days early but the school system here gives mid term test 2 days prior to the Christmas break (seems like an evil ploy to keep kids there to me lol ). Even though MVMCP will be done and over I am sure we can find a lot of holiday cheer.

If you are looking for the slower crowds I would go the 2nd week of December. Usually the first week of Dec was traditional slow but I think thanks to boards like this people have wised up and it was packed this year. So next year we will be going the 2nd week of Dec.

We will arrive on 12/08 and leave on 12/18. We prefer longer trips so that we have time to enjoy all the magic and still feel rested when we get home. We are planning 2 MVMCP's and have plans to be joined the first weekend that we are there by my honey's family from Florida. I officially had my time off approved yesterday! Maggie
