What week do your kids go back to school?

Just curious when all of your children go back to school.

Wow, Disneyjunkie.........I thought schools around here were late with starting on Sept. 2nd. You can vote for the week of Sept. 2nd.........since I should have put, Sept. 2nd or after.

I basically wanted to know how many start in August and how many in September.

We are in North Georgia and our kids are going back on Aug. 11--awfully early in my opinion

We are in North Alabama and start back on August 12th.

Our kids are in year-round schools (9-ish weeks in, 3 weeks out)...the timing of those 3 week breaks affords us the opportunity to visit WDW when the crowds are wonderfully small!
In fact, they just finished the school year on June 27 and start back up (one grade further along) on July 7.

Hi everyone.
I am in Syracuse NY and the kids go back on Wednesday Sept 3. Always after Labor Day and after our 12 day run of The New York State Fair, which by the way is always alot of fun.
We were not out of school until June 24 this past school year.

If you start in Aug when are you done?

My kids go back the day after labor day. I live in a tourist town in northern michigan and a few years ago they went back to school in the last week of august and alot of people got mad, especially business owners because labor day weekend is a big tourist weekend up here and everyone had to leave to get there kids back to school. Not to mention, it messed up our last weekend together to go camping before school started. I like it that they go back to school in sept. But they dont get out of school here until the 2nd week of june.

The kids here go back Aug. 7--ds birthday--but ds & dd start actually start school on Monday b/c we hs. Oh yea the kids in ps here get out the end of May

We go back either the Tuesday or Wednesday after Labor Day-- they keep changing it each year and I haven't looked yet.

(However, the public schools in our area (BUffalo NY area) are all going to have to adopt the 1 week break in February this year (over Presidents Day), which is something new. This will result in them turning our normal 2 week Easter breaks into 1. The last few years only a small handful of schools were doing this. So that may begin affecting travel from this area at the time.)

Year round in my county for elementary only. We're a suburb of Denver but most of town is on traditional. That's why we've always gone in November! I love it and won't be thrilled in when DD goes to middle school. We have 3 more years to enjoy the off season!

We start Aug 11 and will be out in mid-May, I think the 16th

We always took family vacations in May when I was a child because "everyone else" wasn't out of school yet, but back then we didn't start 'til around Aug 20th but still got out mid-May. Last year we started Aug 7th and all the parents thought it was too early and complained, so we're starting later (woohoo - 4 days later ) this year.

To hightown, we used to lived in Highlands Ranch and we loved the year round. Now we're in Kansas and I'm teaching so we always go in summer. I'm thinking that next year we'll go at the end of May or beginning of June and hopefully most schools are still in session.

My kids go back on Aug 25. And they got out of school this year on June 12th. Went on Vac on the 21st til 29th been home a week and they are sooooooooooooo bored. I can't wait til school starts.........
