what we got for our January stay!

Hi!
After asking for your opinions, I wanted to post what we were able to get at the 7 month window! We're really excited about it! And we got our first choices both times we called, which was great.

7 nights AKV (standard) studio, followed by...
4 nights VWL 1 br
We will then be heading to St. Augustine (our favorite non-disney florida spot!)

DH is really excited because we get to try 2 new resorts (for us)! And I'm already dreaming of planning the next January trip... where I'm really hoping to get a THV (we didn't have enough window to do it this year, as we just bought our SSR contract this spring) and do that split stay with an epcot resort (will be a first!)... This planning is so fun!

Thanks for all your tips and opinions! Now I'll have to read up on both AKV and VWL!

Congrats. I just changed our THV ressie for Jan to a Kidani 2bd SV today. We went to visit Kidani in May on our last trip. We loved it, (minus the lack of a CS). We're so excited to try it out.

I'm sure you will have a great trip!

Just out of curiosity, did you select std view to save points? Personally, I wouldn't do AKV without Savannah view because I think watching the animals is so much a part of the experience. Definitely worth a few more points!!! I do understand wanting to save points as well. You will ahve agreat trip no matter what!

Cool! That's great to hear! I wasn't sure about VWL. We were going back and forth on that, or BLT, or Boardwalk, but thought being over MLK, it might be a bit more relaxing? No idea! We had thought to do OKW or SSR, but will have done both of those in the last year and wanted to try out the others.

Standard view- yes, to save points. Mostly because my kids are not in to animals (yes, I know that's weird, but it's true! I had to do some convincing for them to stay there due to the pool!), and we're not 'view' people. So we figured that would be better for us. I guess we'll see when we're there. We're still pretty new to disney and brand new to dvc, so we're learning as we go!
