H & V--- dirty and just poor in quality and presentation.

San Angel-- horrible food and even worse service. Overall our worst dining experience at WDW.

Spirit of Aloha---poor, cold food and just mediocre entertainment, way over priced for what you get.

Cape May---mealy shrimp, rubber muscles (but dessert was good)

California Grill!

We were very disappointed, in both the atmosphere and the prices (considering the atmosphere).

It was loud, kids running all over the place, people shouting, and way too bright. The food was ok - but the atmosphere took away from the enjoyment. I guess we were just expecting it to be a little darker and more "romantic". We felt like we were sitting in a food court. Oh well. Live & Learn.

Well, crap. Our first dinner this year is at LTT.

I might have to rethink that. I'm not a big fan of turkey tv dinners!

My least favorite has got to be Cape May. Spotty service, and the food is not that great, either.

Great thread, it is really helping me decide where to go for our upcoming vacation.

That said, my husband and I, for the most part, have really enjoyed most of our meals at WDW. However there are a few places we won't go back for various reasons. They are:

San Angel - great atmosphere but really didn't care for the food
Le Cellier - we're steak people and we were really disappointed with the flavor of the meat. And the cheese soup didn't live up to the hype, for me anyway.
50's Prime Time - Just not for us....food was ok but it was way too crowded and loud to really enjoy our lunch
Planet Hollywood - I think we're just too old for this place (went on our honeymoon at age 26). We just left since we sat at our table for 20 minutes without so much as Hi from our server.

Lets face it....disney has good food (some quite good), but it is not going to be top of the line gourmet even though prices are a bit on the high side. So for me, it is all about the atmosphere, and disney has that as only disney can. Having said that, you now know my driving force in picking a restaurant. (we actually didn't eat out too much as we split our stay and spent 5 nights in the cabins, thus cooking many of our own meals. While at AKL, obviously we ate out.
50's Prime time = food was good, server AWFUL. I knew not to expect an outgoing server (they can't all be super fun), but this gal was soooo badd. Admittedly she was new, but took forever, no personality, confused, many mistakes and no apologies. Again food good. Atmosphere, very loud, busy and horrid server. Would not go back. Yes we might get a good one, but not worth the risk. The place is too dependent on server for really good time.
Sci-Fi= loved it. Food was good....not great. Server, Mickey - yup that was his name, was wonderful (dry, sarcastic, and a bit pushy, but he pulled it off well). And loved the atmosphere. So even if server was not so personable, the atmosphere (movies, car table, etc) could stand on its own.

Ohana again a success. Food was good and plentiful. My hubby and even DD11 were starved by dinner time. I have pics as they started digging in (watch your fingers kids) and as they finished up (looked decidedly pained...just one more wafer thin mint....for those Monty Python fans ). My younger two DD9 and DS5 loved the activities, coconut races, hula lessons, and something else that escapes me right now. Also, my DS is quite energetic (in report card, teacher wrote "enthusiastic learner" love the euphemism sp?. As a teacher myself, I can read between the lines) Anyhow, it was nice to be in a restaurant where his energy was put to good use and the rest of us enjoyed out meal.
Pecos Bill=I know people love it, but to me it was just OK. DS hated the beans and franks. When camping with his father they often open Bushes beans and add hotdogs and DS thinks this is the best meal in the world. But not disney's, oh well.
Tusker house-pretty good. Appreciated choices other than burgers and fries. Can't remember much more......hmmm.
Casey's-hotdogs are hotdogs, but enjoyed the view and weather while sitting on patio
Tangerine cafe-now I love shwarma, but it is hard to find a place that serves the good stuff. Disney did alright. Not the best, but certainly better than some others I have had. Kids did not find anything they liked so headed to Japan. They had chicken terriyaki-seemed to like it.
Enjoyed pastries in Norway-yum, but then again chocolate is always yum
I think that does it. There are many who will disagree with me, I understand, but these were my experiences. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

Oops, almost forgot.....WCC. Food was average, but good golly, lots of it. Server was pretty good (similar to Mickey at Sci-Fi, but somehow I remember him more fondly....hmm), kids enjoyed the pony races and ketchup was big hit. So for TS meals in order of preference;
1 Sci-Fi
2 Ohana
3 WCC
4 50's Prime time though frankly, in my mind, all the CS meals rank above it. Yes the food was better than CS, but our server was really that bad

Hubby would switch the first two, but only because of the endless amounts of food available at Ohana's. What can I say, the man has yet to meet a buffet doesn't like (may not like everything, but finds something) That is why he loves our annual trip to Vegas. He doesn't gamle, just enjoys watching me with my nickle slots. But boy does he get into high gear at the buffets. I'd say Vegas comes out on the losing end of that deal

Biergarten. Yuck! We usually enjoy German food, but this even looked disgusting. We had asked if there was any "kid food" on the buffet, and they had assured us there were frankfurters. Well, there were frankfurters German-style soaking in sauerkraut.

Prime Time Cafe at MGM. I couldn't stand it. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The food was good but really didn't like being fussed at. We had never heard of it so we had no idea the atmosphere.

I have to 110% completely agree. I don't think Prime Time is worth it.

I guess we've been lucky. In three trips over three years, we've never had a truly "bad" dining experience. There are a couple of places we haven't felt "compelled" to return to, most namely Chef Mickey's and Biergarten... not because they were bad, but because we try to do both favorites and new choices for each trip, and neither of these ranked as favorites.

However, there is one dining experience we probably won't repeat-- the Donald's Breakfastosaurus character meal at Animal Kingdom.

Our hesitation to return has little to do with the food (good), the service (decent), or the characters (fun!) Instead, it has more to do with the Animal Kingdom itself. We had an early, pre-opening ADR, and were able to eat and get into the park by opening.

The problem is, we usually eat a light, in-room breakfast before park touring because we know we're going to do a lot of walking in the heat. The heavy breakfast we had, combined with the hot day and AK's relative lack of shade and/or AC made us feel queasy, and we ended up taking our afternoon break a couple of hours earlier than planned.

I personally won't go back to Pizza Planet at MGM. The pizza was okay but the wait is way too long. There's nowhere to sit. People stand around you while you eat, like vultures, waiting to grab your table. The whole PP atmosphere is very loud and run down. And we didn't even go at rush hour!

Wow, I thought there were more negative comments about LTT than just 6. Still I think those receiving 5-6 or more on an informal poll like this is significant!

Here is another vote NOT to go back to Liberty Tree. We did this in Dec when we were there based on the positive reviews I'd read on the DIS boards. No one knew supposedly what to do with my DDE card so I did not get to use that which I was told when I made the ADR's it could be used. Then since it was just dd6 and myself they stuck us at a little tiny table that was barely big enough to hold all the terrible, blah food(rock hard veggies, cold meat) they brought out. Since we were the last table on the circuit for the characters they didn't even all make it to our table as the party next to us had an older (at least teenaged) member of their group with some obvious special needs that kept clinging to the characters so that by the time they got away from that table it was time for them to go wherever it is they go for a break and they spent 2 seconds with my daughter.Really some of them just waved as they passed the table they would not even stop for a picture. Now before you get the flame throwers out my daughter has an autism spectrum disorder however it is not obvious to the average person she has any issues. I understand the world of dealing with people with different abilities but she did not understand why the characters kept spending all their time with this person and none with her.It just added to the whole bad expierence The "handlers" promised to come right back but they did not. Heck our server barely even acknowledged us. I totally felt jipped. Terrible food. Bad service and unfortuatly very little character interaction and a little girl that left thinking Goofy and the gang didn't like her. This is just something we won't do again.
