What WDW restaraunt won't you go back to? And why not?

CS - ABC Commissary, can you say YUCK! The burgers were hockey pucks, it was vile. We won't have been back several times since, and avoid it!

TS - Ohana's used to be one of our we have to go there. With the changes they have made, we won't bother. We loved the wontons, grilled shrimp and pineapple. Since they are all gone, there is no reason to go anymore.

TS - CRT for breakfeast. It was great, we have been there a few times, kids loved it, food was pretty good. It isn't worth the money now at all.

TS - Le Cellier We went there for lunch. It was horrible. I know lot of people love it, but it was horrible when we went.

For us it would be Mama Melrose - got on the Fantasmic package and only offered a limited menu which we all had a hard time finding something. What we did get tasted horrible.
Second would be Earl of Sandwhich. We had heard such great reviews that I had told DH it was a must. The kids wouldnt even eat the grilled cheese. Very greasy and I tasted it and spit it out. I took two bites out of my turkey sandwhich and it left me nausious the rest of the day. This was the day we left Disney, ended up having to get the kids Happy Meals from McDonalds at the airport.

We loved LTT and LeCellier.

CRT dinner
The service was rushed, rushed, rushed. The food was merely OK. The "show" with Fairy Godmother was so freakin' lame. Not even just "lame for adults" lame - but LAME.

On the other hand, our server, who was obviously rushed, was very good.

The Flying Fish.....portions were miniscule and the server was condescending and plain out rude. Ick - I don't pay over 100.00 for a meal to be abused!

Although I know many people who love it, we definitely will NEVER return to Tony's. Service was poor and the food was dry, over cooked and just gross.

DH won't return to O'hana since they redid the menu and got rid of the pineapple and caramel dessert.

Has to be "The Earl of Sandwitch." Just nothing like Disney at all. Madhouse, poor organization, wilted salads, confusing layout, and we won't be in there again. Just cheap in general.

Keep in mind that "Earl of Sandwich", like many DTD eateries (and stores), is neither owned nor managed by Disney. So that would explain why it's nothing like Disney at all.

Akershus at Norway - The food was terrible, and looked terrible too.
Beirgaten at Germany - The food is just mediocre. I can get better German food here at home.
50's Prime Time - It was loud, obnoxious and you are packed in like sardines.

I have eaten at almost every resturant at WDW. For the most part I have always had good food and excellent service.

The only one I was not thrilled with was 1900 PF. I loved the character interaction but my group of picky eaters weren't thrilled with the buffet. If we go again it will only be to see Cinderella (and hopefully have another magical moment).

That was our experience at 1900 as well. The characters were very attentive, the atmosphere festive, but the buffet selections could have been broader.


We also would not eat at Pizza Palace again. ICK! I could have bought the same frozen pizza for way less at the Winn-Dixie. I think I could have better tolerated the frozen pizza if it hadn't been for the 30 min wait in line, or the 10 min search for a table...and it was dirty. Nope, wouldn't do Pizza Palace again!

Donald's Breakfastasarus in AK. Our server was almost non-existant. The characters came and went very quickly. The food was just ok. It was way expensive for breakfast. To be fair, we really do better with cereal in the room. Not really a family that wants a big breakfast and no lunch.

Garden Grille - Yuck. The chicken was slimy and greasy and dark meat - not my thing! The rest of the food was so bad looking I couldn't even think about eating it. The server was rude, but at least while he was being rude, he was THERE. Mostly he was somewhere else.

CRT - Sorry princess lovers. It was nice being in the castle, but the price did not justify the service or the food.

ABC Commissary - Can you say ewwwwww? Everything was downright disgusting. The only thing good about ABC, is the opportunity to sit down in some a/c.

Other than these, I would return to any other WDW restaurant I've been to.

TS - Boma. Sorry Boma fans! Everything tasted like either coffee or cinnamon. I am a huge carnivore and lover of Prime Rib and I couldn't even eat the prime rib the flavor was so odd. I went up to that buffet numerous times to try to find something I could eat ... I didn't even like the desserts ... coffee flavor was prevelent. In the end I ate a few kids chicken strips. They did refund my meal price since I didn't eat so that was nice. DH and I cannot figure out why people like this place so much. We cook with a lot of different flavors and like flavors infused in our foods but those flavors were just ugh.

Okay, not to be too insulting, but, as I just read a post that indicated that someone has changed their plans to try Boma because of this post, I had to speak up.

Um, the only things that tasted of coffee in this restaurant were the chocolate desserts (which had only a hint of java flavor--probably because, you know, coffee and chocolate are so closely related...) and the, uh, coffee. And, as for the cinnamon flavor, a couple of items had a vaguely cinnamon note, but it was certainly not overpowering. Actually, the smell of cinnamon does waft through the restaurant (and, in all honesty, throughout the entire AKl lobby); some people love this, others do not.

But there are plenty of food items featured on the buffet that taste not the tiniest bit of coffee, including the prime rib.

I promise you that.

I will not be going back to the character breakfast at the Beach Club. When I was there, the food was cold and stale and the characters were lackluster at best. Minnie wouldn't even come to the table. You had to go to her. Out of the four character meals that I have been too, this was the worst.

Also, I know I will probably be flamed for this one. I will not be going back to the 50's Prime Time. The food didn't suit me at all. Everything was extremely greasy and I just didn't enjoy it. I have had better service at Cosmic Rays.
I am wanting to try either the Sci-Fi Drive In or Hollywood and Vine at MGM.

I think that's a very wise decision.

The breakfast menu is quite a bit more accessible to less adventurous palates than the dinner menu (plenty of hearty traditonal English breakfast items like eggs and sausages), but you still have a few exotic items on offering if you choose to walk on the wild side, as it were. (Actually, though I was, alas, not brave enough to try this, our waiter one morning, Chaidan--you should ask for him, he is outstanding!!--informed us that Boma serves a traditional Japanese breakfast, consisting of choices such as pickled fish, etc.)

Anyway, I certainly didn't mean to criticize you for changing your dining choices. I just felt that the Coffee Poster (as I affectionately refer to him) was, well, wrong. In a nutshell.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip, including dining!

I didn't read any criticism in you post, just a bit of gentle teasing. Mind you I am tempted to change Spoodles back to Boma, the trouble is so many resteraunts and so few days. I am trying to get CRT lunch in one day as it looks fun, but pay OOP for that one.

Alfredos...tough veal and claustrophic and loud dining room!

The snack bar in WDW across from the speedway, horrible hotdogs and hamburgers. Yuck!

And finally,

England...we had a fantastic view of Illuminations but the food was horrible. Dry, slow service, and tasteless.

Quite an array of offenders and most are predictable, IMO...I'm happy to see that while there are many people who are still finding 'Ohana a great place, I am not alone in my missing of the "old 'Ohana." But I do wish to tell Tiggersmom 2 that your experience at Flying Fish is NOT typical. We have eaten there well over 20 times in the past few years and have NEVER experienced what you did...I swear you were just totally unlucky.

I do feel that no one should make an out and out conclusion on any restaurant based on one dining experience, with very few exceptions. Every place, every server, every bartender, chef and manager can have an off day and any meal can be not quite right for some inexplicable reason on any given day...

I'm really enjoying this thread but must join it to say that we have had horrible and super meals at the very same places. That being said...I won't return to Akerhus, unspeakably rude and callous!!! We have had very good meals at Boma, Tony's, Chef M's, Rose and Crown and LTT. We have also had bad experiences from time to time. At crowded times don't try buffets. Not fun.

Ours would be Wolfgang Puck Express. The pizza was horrid. It was soggy and runny and just down right ewwww.. We couldnt even eat the chocolate cake because it was nasty tasting.

Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic package. The appetizer menu is limited and everything from salad to flatbread had lots of gorgonzola cheese which we found to be very salty and off smelling. The salad was wilted. Flatbreads undercooked. Chicken parm had literally an inch of very soggy unseasoned coating and way overcooked chicken inside. The kids got tiny tiny amounts of pasta as did I with my parm (I guess they were running low and didn't want to wait for more to cook--other tables the kids had a full bowl of pasta). All of the desserts (tiramisu adn cheesecake) looked and tasted like they had been in the fridge uncovered way too long--stale and off tasting. We aren't picky at all but nothing was remotely good here. Everything that should be cold was warm and everything warm was cold.
