What WDW restaraunt won't you go back to? And why not?

Alfredo's. My husband and I ordered the fettachini because of the rave reviews we heard but it had way to much cheese, even for cheese lovers. We maybe ate three bites a piece.

I didn't read any criticism in you post, just a bit of gentle teasing. Mind you I am tempted to change Spoodles back to Boma, the trouble is so many resteraunts and so few days. I am trying to get CRT lunch in one day as it looks fun, but pay OOP for that one.

:lmao:

CRT? Out of pocket? Wow. Will you have any money left to eat elsewhere? :lmao: Seriously, hope you enjoy it all, esp. Cindy's. DW and I have no kids, and therefore, no incentive to try it.

And now to the main point of this thread:

DW and I have two restaurants we'll never return to at WDW: Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood. And the reason applies to both--bland, sub-Applebee's sports bar fare at grossly overinflated prices. I mean, we can get this sh**, tasting as unspired, and for a lot cheaper, right here in our own little burg.

RFC and PH are depressing to even think about...

A lot of our favorite restaurants are posted in this thread, and the opinions here are not going to stop us from eating at them again and again...

Now, the one restaurant in all of WDW that we absolutely will NOT go to again (after 3 increasingly dismal visits over the years) is Fulton's Crab House. Each time, we had bad food, bad service, and the last time, an outright crook for a waiter who tried to get us to pay for a meal that we did not order or receive, and the manager backed him up on it :scared1: We finally got it straightened out when the people at the next table vouched for our side of the story.

Having said that, I know that many people swear by Fulton's (that's why we kept retrying it); we just have no need to try again. Therre are too many other places we really like to waste time there!

Bongo's! Tried it twice and twice I kicked myself. Horrible! The restaurant was packed with people and we had to wait for a table both times. I wouldn't have minded if the food was decent.

I wanted to take a poll on the way out to see if people actually enjoyed the food. There was no taste on anything except the plaintains - and it wasn't a good taste! I must be missing something. Although I've been to Cuba and didn't like the food there either so maybe it is my tastebuds. Funny thing is I have loved the food at some of the previously mentioned places so it is definately "to each their own"!

I may get flamed, but ours is definitely Le Cellier. It was an all-around BLECHY experience. We has PS MONTHS in advance, but waited over an hour for our table. I love soup, and the cheddar cheese soup was nothing extraordinary. They brought me the wrong entree. We live in Texas, and my husband thinks he gets much better steaks here at home.

I probably wouldn't go back to Marrakesh, especially on a dining plan. The food there was fine; apps & dessert excellent, entees good but not great. The service wasn't the greatest; tho it was quick and efficient there were no drink refills offered or anything over taking our order and delivering it. The entertainment was short and disappointing especially for our DD since they didn't involve the kids in the dancing as I had read and it was her b-day which was noted on the ADR which wasn't recognized at all. I was especially disappointed that she was not allowed an app and the only dessert she could have was a scoop of icecream on the plan which was the Candlelight Processional plan and quite costly. I wasn't expecting anything extra for her b-day or the plan but the hohum service, child dessert restrictions, and disappointing entertainment/b-day recognition (not even a happy b-day) added up to a bad experience. After all our great dining experiences that week, 11ADR's total which were all exceptional, this one was the only one that didn't measure up to the Disney experience. It wasn't so bad I wouldn't give it another try tho but I'd have to run out of new places to try and favorites to do again before I did.

Have you ever bitten into a cheeseburger in the dark and discovered it was not cooked, at all? I mean blood red? I will never go to Sci-Fi again.

On the other hand, over the years that was really the only truly bad meal I've had. I do however think that Alfredo's has gone downhill. We used to enjoy it but will not bother going back after last year - bad service and so so food.

I'll have to tell DH, that's how he LIKES his burgers. ;)

I didn't care for Mama Melrose, the food just wasn't good. Also Le Cellier wasn't the best but we might try it again.

Great post! Got me thinking about changing my ADR at the LTT.

I've only ever had two bad meals at WDW: ABC Commissionary (disgusting burger) and Storybook Princess Restaurant breakfast (tiny portions and very rushed).

I have two.

TS - Boma. Sorry Boma fans! Everything tasted like either coffee or cinnamon. I am a huge carnivore and lover of Prime Rib and I couldn't even eat the prime rib the flavor was so odd. I went up to that buffet numerous times to try to find something I could eat ... I didn't even like the desserts ... coffee flavor was prevelent. In the end I ate a few kids chicken strips. They did refund my meal price since I didn't eat so that was nice. DH and I cannot figure out why people like this place so much. We cook with a lot of different flavors and like flavors infused in our foods but those flavors were just ugh.

WDWO

My DH feels exactly the same way you do about Boma-he won't go back! However, it is one of my favorite places to eat at WDW. Different strokes.

I'm a BIG Disney fan, but Cinderella's Royal Table , I would probably Never go back there :sad2:. The atmosphere was great :cool1: :thumbsup2 , but the food was bad :stir:. Unless My kids wanna go there, were not going

I hope this isn't TOO long a post:

We really haven't eatin at that many places and we've had fairly descent to excellent service just about everywhere we've been. What's nice about my family, we know within a few bites if we LOVE the place or not. Of our last trip, Le Cellier Ohana's and Teppenyaki rated the highest. We've never had the original menu at Ohana's so we weren't disappointed with any menu changes. Think our party ate about 4 lbs of shrimp....and the bread pudding was FABULOUS. We're going back in Oct. Though we liked teppenyaki (our first hibatchi experience) we've found a local place thats just as good for half the price so we won't go back.

CRT: probably the place we disliked the most. Wait was long, service was spotty, and the restaruant just seemed dirty (everything shows up on red carpet). The food was edible...just not worth the price. Glad I tried it once...but even my kids said "big deal, we're eating in the castle."

RAINFOREST CAFE: Both DTD & AK. We've been at least three different times b/c the kids like the themeing so much. But we finally decided that the food was barely passible and WAY over priced. If they want to see the themeing that bad...we'll hit the gift shop.

CHEF MICKEYS: Ok...mabey my group is just getting too old for character meals. We were there at the end of breakfast hoping for extra character interaction (which I'd say we got from Dale) and we hung around about 30 min after we were done eating and never saw Mickey. The food selection was poor and just not anything to rave about. Couldn't justify the $75 for breakfast!

My group really liked Bomas, though I thought it was just ok. But it was worth the trip to check out AKL and the resturaunt was nice..lots of selection on the buffet and it was all hot/cold as it was supposed to be. I just didin't have alot jump out at me as good....of course I don't eat seafood so it cut down my options a bit. I won't say I WON'T GO BACK..but it certainly doesn't rant that high with me...so this trip we're going to try breakfast...good compromise.

I wanted to add for all of those that chose Liberty Tree as their worst because it tasted processed. I read somewhere before our last visit that it is a Stouffer's restaurant.

That explains a lot!!! We were there for dinner 3 months ago and it was beyond terrible. But we had lunch there a month prior to that - no characters, no platters - and it was really really good! I would absolutely go back for lunch. Just not that puree they called dinner.

There are 3 restaurants I would not go back to:
Mama Melrose's- had an individual pizza and I think they put alpo on for a topping. It was just horrible.

Tony's- overpriced for what you get. DS ordered steak because he is not big on pasta and sauces. He got this tiny piece of meat. We had to get him something else to eat after we left.

Sci Fi Diner- The food is just bad. Younger DS had ribs he couldn't eat because they were so tough and fatty. Nice atmosphere but lousy food.

We won't be back to Chef Mickey's for breakfast- it was 'ok' but 4 out of 5 people in our family don't eat pork so over half the offerings are out. Normally I would have given this a second chance since we ate there during Francis, w/ no characters, a minimal staff (and lower price) etc etc etc, but the menu isn't worth the money for us. We were trapped in the resort and had to eat.

We definately will never eat at the Food and Fun Center at CR again. I think only my oldest dd and dh actually ate anything and neither was happy.

Liberty Tree Tavern is up in the air. We were seated in an odd location and I definately could have put the same meal on the table from my freezer, but dd loved how the characters were dressed and is 'into' all things Colonial.

I won't pay the current price for CRT. We've done it twice and enjoyed breakfast each time, didn't feel the food was worth it (though the healthy choice is good) we did have good character interaction. It's just not worth what they're charging now.

Mama Melrose's at MGM -blech- everything tasted like I'd imagine cardboard too. I haven't found a counter service at MGM worthy of a second trip either.

Dh didn't like Le Cellier, I was surprised at the portion sizes compared to the rest of Disney.

We weren't overly impressed with Boma. It was good and there were a lot of offerings but for us it just didn't live up to it's 'unique' or 'adventurous' reputation, plus our server was AWFUL, we literally never saw him. We were seated told our server was -name- and then never saw him. We had to hunt someone, anyone, down for drink refills and for our check. But this was another we ate at during our Francis trip so it's getting a second chance this year.

1900 Park Fare- The buffet food was just horrible, never ever again !
Si- Fi in MGM food was served up cold, we really wanted to like this , :guilty: overall bad service too.

Mama Melroses: Don't remember what we had but do remember that it wasn't very good and the portion sizes were terribly small. The service we had was awful too! That was way back in 1998 and still have never gone back.

Portobello Yachtclub: Dinner was ok, but way overpriced for what we got.

Just noticed something funny. :teeth: Most of the restaraunts mentioned in this thread are also mentioned on the thread on favorite restaraunts. My point is don't freak  if you have ADR for any place mentioned. People have different tastes and expectations. Look at menus prior to going, maybe stick to things you like or are familiar with, and don't expect world class gourmet food at a bargain in a theme park. Also, though the atmosphere is awesome, Sci-fi is bad. ;) :hippie:

There is almost no point in worrying about whether a restauarnt is bad based on the reviews of others. EVERYBODY has different tastes. Me and DH LOVED LTT because we enjoy simple comfort food. We also had terrific meals at Councourse Steakhouse, YSH, 50's Primetime and San Angel Inn. Next trip we are going to try Garden Grill, once of the French pavillion restaurants and a few others.

I don't think I've ever had a bad meal on Disney property...at least not bad enough to make me not want to go back. On our honeymoon in Oct, San Angel Inn was probably the most disappointing meal I've ever had, but the MANY times prior that I've eaten there were outstanding and we will try again someday.
