What Was Your Social Status In High School?

This is a useless silly little thread. I find it amazing that our high school lives can be so important to us and who is dating who and who has the nicest jeans are HUGE issues in our lives. Then 5, 10, 15, years down the road who cares??? (Okay, for some people it always does) But, we all can get along here, and we all came from different backgrounds. But, we've all ended up in the same place - A Disney forum. So, what was your status - nerd, brain, teacher's pet, druggie, band geek, snob, jock, loner, homecoming queen?

I'll go first. I really would have to put myself in the middle of it all, I think. I was friends with all the different "groups" I'd actually go group to group. I was definitely the teacher's pet. One guy called me brown noser all through high school. I was definitely a band geek. I didn't date at all, but most of my "best" friends were guys. I was good enough that the popular girls didn't shun me, but they didn't invite me to their parties. At times I felt like I didn't belong. And, I was a band geek. Band was my passion.

OK. Who's next. If no one else follows me, it will probably take me back to the my high school days when I felt all alone. So, someone else join in :)

I tried my best to be friends with everyone, though I did have a "core" group I hung around with. My sleep overs were interesting as I had quite the mix of people. LOL! Some from every group!

I was not the most popular one by any means, but I did hang around with the popular group for the most part.

I still keep in contact with a few people from high school, and 2 of my closest friends have been with me the whole time. It's hard to believe it'll be 15 years next year. :earseek:

i was friends with multiple people in 2 crowds, the "smart kids" and the performing arts crowd.

I was good enough that the popular girls didn't shun me, but they didn't invite me to their parties.

pretty much sums it up for me, too.

I was a "live and let live" sort. I had a group of friends who were basically nice kids with a bit of devilishness, but no one was a real hood or anything. Just the normal, kooky HS stuff. I played volleyball, but wasn't a cheerleader or anythng liek that.

I was basically a pretty normal kid, got along with everyone, had no enemies. I had a pretty uneventful HS experience, fun, no great dramas or traumas.

I was the smart jock. Most of the popular girls played sports with me, so I fit into that world pretty easily. And I took APs with the same five or six people all the time, so that was my other crowd. Loved high school. Loved college. I lucked out big time.

I flew under the radar. I was alot like the OP here in that I was not shunned from the popular crowd, but not really part of it either. I didn't really care, my homelife was enough to keep me on my toes with drama!

I did take part in Forensics, so drama geek possibly, except that I didn't try out for plays or anything! You can tell by my tag I was a DECA member.

This would be me. Made for a lot of insecurity on my part!

I was one of the "smart, involved in lots of activities at school & church" kids. That's what most of the kids did in my high school back in the "olden" days.

I went to a really small high school (32 in my graduating senior class!) so we all knew each other very well. Got along well with most; I still keep in touch with a few of them.

I was single..no boyfriends. I was the quiet one. My late husband thought I was a nerd, but he never said I was one back then and he was nice to me.

I don't think I was a nerd. I was just not in any groups. I had 2 very good friends. I got along fine with everyone.

On the other hand...My late husband (we went to school together, same class year), he was in the spot light. He was shining everday. The girls liked him a lot. He was very active in sports, he is a member of the student council and he was the class president for 3 years.

Our classmates wonder how we ended up together. He became my husband! Opposite attracts! Boy...do I miss him.

Jock/Homecoming Queen.....best of both worlds...

3 Varsity sports a year.....that was me!

I went to a small Catholic high school with a class size of 157 so we really didn't have too many cliques.
I had friends in different groups, mostly kids that were in the same classes as me since freshman year. Some jocks, some cheerleaders, some band and theater kids, smart kids, burnouts, etc.. I was involved in a lot of activities as well

I was popular enough to get elected to student council every year, but not so popular that I was homecoming queen.

I was a drama geek...did all the school plays, and starred in our final one senior year...

Hung out with a lot of the popular kids, but was never quite one of them. Too much of a different background I think...being dirt poor didn't help.

I was a PB which was short for Professor's brat.....it was usually called in good humor, tho!!:D

Actually I went to a small enough school where I had many different friends. There weren't too many cliques in our class.

Wall flower here :D If I could blend in, that was good enough for me. I don't have greatly pleasant memories of school, though things did get a little better in High school, when some of the people I went to school with seemed to grow up a bit. I didn't really have a clique, I felt like I never really fit in anywhere. Though I went to a very small school, so pickings were slim! I laugh now when I look at my year book from grade 12 because if you look at the diploma ceremony and the reception at night, you could swear I hadn't attended, though I went to both.

I'm considered popular!!:teeth: it rocks.....you get invited to EVERYTHING, you have more good friends, it rocks, LoL!!!:teeth: I'm smart, and also an athlete, so that also helps:teeth:

I was in every drama show, choir and musical the school gave! I also was academically in the top of my class.

I was also the leader of a gang of over 1,000 people. You might say I was "popular".... :p

I was very shy, more of a loner. I had a class with dh in 10th grade, started talking the last day of school. Started dating that Sept. Almost 18 years ago, married for 12. He was definitely my best friend.

This was me in school, except I wasn't a band geek and no one actually called me brown noser to my face. LOL
