10 Days-- but I messed up, so let this be a cautionary tale for you:
Got a 39 Ding on a Sunday, so I booked OKW (which we love) on cash, figuring I would change to a points ressie when Member Services opened on Monday. But, there were no points ressies available. Paid cash (albeit at a big discount) for four of the five nights, while my points sat unused. (I managed to get one night on points off the wait list.)
Anyway, I'm glad we went, but I wish I had realized the risk of booking the flight first. Next time I will not assume (cuz you know what that makes me!)
Our first trip was about 5 months in advance, and our next two trips were about 4 months in advance. We've already past the 7 month window for January, so this one we'll end up booking about 5 months in advance.
A little over an hour prior to check in is our shortest!
We got off a Disney cruise, started driving up 95 north and as soon as MS opened we called. They had a studio avail at both OKW and SSR for the next two nights so we turned around at the next exit and started back south!
The two nights were a Sat and Sunday night. I was so glad I had remembered that MS was open on Sat!
DH and I decided on the 6th to go on the 9th. Then we did it again another
time. Those are the best trips in my opinion. We don't usually do the parks.
Just relax, tour other resorts, see movies, DTD, EAT. I love it!
We bought in Jan. Booked in Feb. for this Aug. split stay at home resort SSR and BWV. I booked in May for this Nov. at SSR. SO yes......you it worked for us.
