this is for everyone to share their story on how they were proposed to.

Rob proposed one night while we were in Walt Disney World on June 13, 2003. We had dinner one night at the California Grill. During dinner, Rob said he wanted to go to the Wedding Pavilion after dinner. After dinner, we took the Monorail and went to the Grand Floridian. After going through the lobby and followed the signs leading to the Pavilion, we got there to find it closed. Rob wanted me to check the sign by the gate to see if there was a phone number there. While reading the sign, I heard the velcro of his shorts rip. We walked along the beach after I told him there was no phone number on the sign. We sat on beach chairs to watch a light parade on the lagoon. After the parade, Rob stood up to stretch. He stood in front of me afterwords and began kissing my forehead. He started asking me questions where my answer would be "yes", for example, "Are you having a good time? Did you enjoy dinner?" after he asked me all of these questions, he said, "Well, I hope my next question I will get the same answer". He got down on his knee and held my hand while I cried hysterically. I remember him telling me, "Maria, I love you," but I can't remember anything else he said after that. I do remember him asking, "Will you marry me?" After I said, "Of course," he put the ring on my finger and got up to hug me. We sat on the same beach chair and just looked out into the water to enjoy the moment. We had to leave the beach because we saw lighting in the sky. We went to the Grand Floridian because I had to use the bathroom. After spending 10 minutes in the bathroom collecting myself, looking at my ring and using the facilities, I left to find Rob waving at me. After I approached him, he asked me if I had my autograph book. When I said, "No", he pointed to a corner and there was the Fairy Godmother. The funny side to the night Rob proposed was that it was Friday the 13th under a full moon with a thunderstorm heading our way!

Simon proposed to me on Brighton Beach (UK). We went to Brighton for the day, did the normal touristy things, the piers and pleasure beach. We were strolling along the beach, he sat me down and asked me to marry him.

We had already chosen the ring a while ago and he said he didn't want me to have it yet and was going to surprise me at some point. It certainly was a surprise as I didn't expect it at all, thought it was just going to be a normal day out.

We are due to marry this December, we will have been together just over three years.

We were in Disney and I wasn't sure if the ring had come in yet. I had helped pick out the stone but wasn't sure if the ring had been made yet. I figured it had since Rick wouldn't let me handle his carryon bag. We spent our first day in the MK and I was hoping it would happen at the castle or on the carousel, nope didn't happen. He waited until we went to dinner at Shulas. He proposed while we were waiting for the food to arrive. I can't remember what he said except for the love part :lol but I said YES and the ring came out beautiful! The waitstaff all congratulated us and we even received complimentary dessert.

my DH and i had been back together only about 6 months when he surprised me. (for those that don't know, we were high school sweethearts...dated almost 2 years, knew we'd be together forever, broke up, went our own ways for 10 years, and he found me online...after 1 1/2 years of e-mails and online chats, we "reunited" in disneyland for a long weekend and knew it was meant to be!)

we knew from day one that we'd be getting married. it was just a matter of when. we were always looking at rings, but just couldn't find THE one. i was nosing around online one day and found THE ring. i sent him the link and we went to the jewelry store that night to see it in person. that was it...it was perfect. we had to wait until his bonus check came before we could buy it. well, it came and we went to purchase the ring. then the store told us that due to the style of ring we were looking at and the small size of my finger, they would have to special order it and it would take up to 6 weeks! i was devastated. i didn't want to wait 6 weeks for my ring...so i had decided that we'd go look elsewhere and if we didn't find anything we liked, we'd suck it up and order the other one.

well, the night that i wanted to go look at other places, matthew was acting kinda weird. he said that he'd been talking to one of our co-workers (we worked together at the time) and that she had suggested an "engagement dinner". basically, he'd ask me to marry him without the ring for the time being. i told him that i wanted to wait until we had a ring. i tried to get him to stop at a jewelry store on the way home, but he said he needed to get home...had to use the bathroom or something, but we'd come back. so we get home, he darts up the stairs to our apartment and runs to the bathroom. he asked me to get him something to drink so i went to the kitchen. when i was in there...i noticed something on our computer screen. it said "click me! click me!" well, not being very computer savvy at the time, i left it alone, thinking it was a virus or something. he finally comes out of the bathroom and i pointed out the computer and he tells me to go click it. i rolled my eyes and clicked...i don't remember everything, but it was a powerpoint presentation...it said stuff about love...i kept clicking screens so it would change...finally said something about how somethings are just worth waiting for. i turned around and he was standing there with THE ring and he asked me to marry him! i sobbed...asked him how he got the ring after only 3 days...finally remembered to say yes! lol...we then went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant to celebrate!

he ended up calling the main headquarters of the jewelry store that had my ring and talked to the VP of purchasing or something. they looked and found my ring in the right size and shipped it to him. he had been out of the office that day in "meetings"...come to find out that those "meetings" were with the girls in the office at our apartment complex! they had signed for the ring, he picked it up from them, ran to the apartment, did the powerpoint presentation, hid the ring, ran back to the office to get me, and then, well, you know the rest! it was such an amazing moment for us...we'd waited soooooooooo long and been through soooooooooo much to get to where we were...we were married in a chapel in kissimmee, no guests, just the 2 of us, and spent our glorious honeymoon in WDW! it was perfect...

I just love these stories! I still cry when i tell anyone how my fiance proposed. It was Valentines day. He handed me a fake rose, it was kinda "tacky" looking, and i guess I had a weird look on my face, because I was expecting a ring (or at least a dozen LIVE roses LOL!). Anyway, I kinda stared at it with maybe alook that said, you are sweet hon, but this is really not what I was hoping for. So he said to me that it was a special promise rose, and if I accepted it I had to promise to be Mrs Worthington. I told him of course I would accept it because it was from him He then leaned over and opened the rose, which was really a ring box, and there was my gorgous engagement ring inside! It was a very sweet and tender moment I will cherish always:lovestruc :flower3: ::yes::

He proposed to me in Niagara Falls Canada. We were in the Secret Garden on a little bridge over a stream(which, at the time, was the place that we were going to get married). We were sitting there watching the fish and he reached for his pocket. I knew instantly! He got down on his knee and said"will you marry me" . It was very nice. We had picked out and purchased the ring several months before, and I knew he was going to propose during the summer sometime, I just didn't know when. It was everything I wanted it to be. He was so sweet. we were staying with his family at the time too, so we got to announce it to his family in person, which was nice.::yes::

Hi everyone! Yet another Disney proposal story!

Michael also asked me to marry him on June 13, 2003 at the Wedding Pavilion!

The day before Friday the 13th, Michael's sister-in-law called my cell phone and told me she signed me and Michael up for a wedding expo that was takig place at 8:30am Friday, June 13, 2003 at The Wedding Pavilion. She told me there would be free gifts and food. I started to think that this was all a set up and that he was going to ask me THE question! I was so excited. However, that night when we got back to our room there was a message from Eva, a Disney employee who worked at the pavilion. She said she saw we were signed up for the wedding expo and a Grand Floridian car would pick us up at the front of the hotel. (Riverside). So, of course, I was disappointed. He didn't really plan anything!

So the morning of the 13th, we went to the front of the hotel and waited for the car. After a few minutes I got impatient and went to the front desk and told them we were waiting to be taken to the wedding pavilion for the wedding expo and there was no car. The front desk girl looked at me and smiled....she said just wait out front that the car would be there and to have fun at the expo. So I went back outside and waited. Finally the car arrived. It took us to the pavilion where Eva was waiting. She said we were early and no other guests had arrived yet. She asked if we wanted to go inside the pavilion and look around. So we went inside. There was a photographer taking pictures. Eva said he was there to get some photos for the new wedding pamplet. He took our picture. As we walked down the aisle to the alter to look out over Seven Seas Lagoon at Cinderella Castle, "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" started to play. There were yellow roses everywhere (my favorite) and the sun was streaming in through the stained glass windows. The next thing I know Michael is on one knee holding the most beautiful diamond ring. He asked me to marry him!! I started to cry and said yes. He planned the whole thing for about a year! The photographer was hired to capture that moment and he also had it videotaped! Eva gave us a Mickey shaped basket with champagne and Mickey glasses. I also got an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie wishing us a lifetime of happiness and magic.

When we got to our room, they had another bottle of champagne, balloons, more roses and rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed. Disney went all out and made the most romantic event in my life so far extra magical!!

If anyone is thinking of proposing.....do it in Disney! It doesn't get any better than that!!!

My proposal was also at WDW. We go to Disney every year so I was expecting a proposal on some trip I just didn’t know which one. I had been very preoccupied before that trip because my DF was turning 40 and I had planned a whole lot of birthday stuff for him. My DF was planning on proposing in front of the dancing fountain in EPCOT but his sister in-law had called the night before and said "did you ask her yet???" He said I am going to ask her in EPCOT at the fountain. She convinced him that I would be expecting that
(he was going to propose the year before in front of the fountain but it was being renovated and he decided it wasn't the right time) so she said "do it tonight"!! :teeth:

We were on our way to The Yachtsman Steak House (Our favorite restaurant) so he figured it was the right time.

He is not the most traditional person on the planet (one of the many things I love about him) so once we ordered our drinks (I ordered coffee) he distracted me by saying "oh, here comes your cream" of course I turn to look and he slipped the ring out of his pocket and under his napkin.

Now, he used to tease me by saying "so, will you marry me now?" (kind of like the commercial “can you hear me now?) just about anywhere we were, like driving down the road. I'd say NO, no till you ask me right! I had gotten used to this, so when he said it at the table I said NO, you didn't ask me right. He says "what if I get down on one knee?" I said NO, you will get down on one knee and you won't mean it. He then says "what if I give you this...." he takes the ring out from under the napkin and like a dope the first thing out of my mouth is "is that a real ring?" I couldn't believe it!! I still was not quite comprehending the situation so the next dopey thing I say is “how did you get that with out me knowing?” He is still just looking at me and says “WELL!!!!!” I said OHHH Yessss!! I will marry you! I was so excited! He then takes out his cell phone and says “ I have to call Andrea” (his sister in-law) I asked why? He said” because she wanted to know when I asked you” Oh Ok, he then says I have to call Jessica (my sister in-law) I said “She Knew?” Yup, Oh Ok. He then proceeded to call about 10 more people over the course of the night. I can’t believe how many people knew and no one spilled the beans! It was the Best night of my life in the BEST place on earth!!

OK, time for the unromantic, practical engagement (on my part mostly). Jason and I always said we would not talk about marriage until being together at least two years. At two years and two weeks, we were sitting around the house, and he said "Well, I think it is time to discuss the 'm' word, and I know you have always wanted to get married in Disney, so do you want to do it there in December?" So, that was that. No ring because he couldn't exactly surprise me since he knew I had a certain ring in mind and we needed to get it custom-made to incorporate diamonds from my grandmother's ring. We went that weekend to the jeweler and had it designed. So when we picked it up three weeks later, I snatched it up, put it on my hand and squeeled "It's now official!"
I had to laugh at how excited he was after he asked me. He even mentioned a few times he didn't want to wait until December, even though it was only seven months away!
We like to joke and tell people how "unromantic" we are, but that is just our style!

:bride: I got engaged 17 years ago but it was so wonderful.....Rick and I were in Europe (Rick was coaching a High School soccer team that was playing and traveling in Europe and I got to go along for my college graduation present from my parents). We were in a lovely little inn in Lucerine Switzerland. We had spent the day with the other coach and his wifeand the "boys" shopping and sight seeing some beautiful castles. When we returned to our room (oops, we we NOT in the same room...I shared a room with the other coach's wife and Rick and the other coach shared a room ;) ) We were standing by the window looking out at the mountains and he took my hand and asked if I would spend my life with him. He slipped my teeny tiny heart shaped diamond (he didnt have much money to spend) on my finger. I of course said yes and we both cried. He then told me I had been carrying the ring around in the pocket of his jacket (which I had borrowed ) for the whole trip. He said he had prayed that I wasnt questioned in customs. A minute later the phone rang and he had to leave as some of the boys were playing soccer in the hallway of the inn. Rick didnt return that night, he had to spend the night in a chair in the hallway making sure the kids didn't make noise again...not very romantic...oh well..it was still a beautiful night!! I was able to buy gorgeous lace in Brussels and gorgeous crystal beads in Switzerland and both of which I had sewn on my dress and veil. I am still as happy as I was that day 17 years ago. I hope all you newly engaged "kids" are as lucky as we are. Congratulations to you all!!!! :cloud9:

i suprised my fiance with the proposal below. a buddy of the son of a co-worker works at the MK, and helped me set up the whole thing. i convinced her that we were just getting a regular pic taken in front of the castle. when i dropped down onto my knee, she took a step back and started balling. a bunch of people stopped to watch (i'd say at least 20), and we were presented with one of cindy's glass slippers engraved with our names and the date on it. now we're planning our fairytale wedding.

My husband proposed in Disney where else.............

We went looking at rings in October and I was just hoping......We had our 3rd trip to Disney in a year planned for January 03. We wnet down and met my brother and his family for a week. I had a feeling it was going to happen there becausse it would be the perfect place. We arrived on a friday evening and decided to go downtown. My husband left everything in the room suitcase opened, camera bag etc. so I figured there could be no way he had a ring. The next day I carried around the camera bag all day and almost stuck my hand in it to search for a ring I was tempted but didn't do it. That nite we went on a romanric boat ride(pontoon) out by the UK terrace to watch the fireworks. We were all alone and I figured this is it.......The boat ride was a christmas gift from my brother needless to day it didn't happen.

The next day we had breakfast planned in MK at 8:30am and the last time we did that both Mickey and Minnie were together in front of the castle before the park opened but not that day there was a marathon that day. Mu husban was dissappointed because hi plans were not working. he tried so hard to contact disney to try to have something special done but didn;t succeed. As we walked sown main street he said let's get our picture taken and Ai said no for what I want to eat. We went for breakfast and all I wanted to fo was relax. He was getting antsie and said let;s go. so we walked back out to main street and deceided to get our picture. "Snap" - one together "Snap" - one of him going down on one knee "Snap" - him proposing.

My hand went over my mouth in shock and I was like that for abnout 20 minutes hysterical crying. he told me how much he loved me and blah blah I can't remember anything else. I just stood there and the camera guy asked - well is it yes???

We then walked over to sit down in from of the castle I called everyone - of course they all knew. My husband became a professional photographer taking everyones pictures for them.

The best part is it happened in the happiest place on earth and my husband booked a wedding consultation the following day at Francks. We were married 3-8-04...................:earsgirl: :earsboy: he made all my dreams come true............

He is a romantic and 117 days before our wedding he went to my office at midnite with a friend and put 12 dozen roses all over my office with a card stating "one rose for every day until we are married and a few extra because i love you"...........:sunny:

Ours was relatively unromantic too. We just decided that it was time! We had been talking about it off and on through out the years. I had always said that I wanted my debt from my ex-h paid off before going into another marraige and that was paid off in February! So here we are!

I'm sure this will put some people up in arms but I never had one. He and I just kind of... agreed we should get married. I won't have an engagement ring either though we are going to buy these pretty wedding rings.

*shrugs* It's all icing. I'm just glad that I get to spend my life with my love.

I love reading engagement stories, hope you guys will enjoy mine as well. Sorry if its long, i just copied and pasted it from another message board were it was posted

2003-Labor Day was coming up and Mike (my Fiance) suggested we go to Disneyland. Now this was kind of odd for me for he would never in a million years suggest going to Disneyland much less suggest going on a holiday. So off we went to Disney for our three day weekend.

We arrived at the Disney hotel Friday afternoon. As we were walking around downtown Disney, I get a phonecall from my mom, she is asking me how am I enjoying Disney and if I’m having fun. Of course I tell her yes I am after all at Disneyland. Now I’ve been to Disneyland a million times and not once did my mom call and ask if I’m enjoying Disney if anything she would say “going to Disneyland again? aren’t you sick and tired of Disney?”. So I started to feel like something was up.

The next day Mike and I went inside the park and did our Disney thing, rode all the rides, ate everything in sight and just had fun. Later that night I was so tired that I just wanted to go back to the hotel and sleep, Mike suggested, no insisted we stay until after the fireworks. So we found a bench right in front of sleeping beauty’s castle and waited for the fireworks (2 ½ hours wait). As we waited we started talking about the future and how I want to have children right away if ever I was to get married..etc. until the fireworks started.

As we were watching the fireworks Mike said to make sure and make a wish at the end. At the end of the fireworks, Mike asked what did I wish for? I said I wished for an annual pass to Disneyland. He looks at me and asked are you sure that’s what you want/wished for?, I said yes at least I know there’s a big chance that wish will come true….He was smiling and asked again are you sure that’s what you want? I said yes I told him because I don’t want to wish for something that might not happen for awhile, well I guess he couldn’t keep it in any longer he was grinning from ear to ear, so he gets down on one knee and pulls out this box, at this point its not registering in my head to what he is doing.

He then proceeds, and asked the question that I’ve been wanting to hear and opens the box, again my thoughts were saying this is not real, inside the box was an e-ring in the shape of mickeys head. I looked at the ring and said “oh how cute where did you buy that?, Did you buy it at the Disney store?”. Finally it hits me, and I was just in so much shock that I kept asking him, is this for real, are you really asking me to be your wife?. Of course being at Disneyland I finally realized how some people are circling us and watching its like in the movies were everyone is quiet and waiting for you to say something. That’s how it felt like, so I finally take his face in my hands and kissed him and said YES! Everyone around us was clapping and saying congratulations, it was so magical and I was crying and I just couldn’t believe he was able to keep this from me since the beginning of the year.

At the end of our mini holiday vacation I still had to asked if my wish of getting an annual pass will come true  He just smiled and said "you'll see"

We talked about getting engaged and married. We knew it was what we both wanted. But we had decided that we would probably get engaged sometime in 2004 and married in 2005. I had one stipulation, I didn't want to know when the engagment would take place, it had to be a surprize. And sure enough my FH pulled it off.

It was the holiday season Dec 2003, and my parents were coming down from Canada to spend it with us in our new house. I was looking forward to it. Being that I had recently been layed off from my last job and just started a new one the beginning of December, we had decided to not buy each other a whole lot for Christmas. We figured one little thing for one another and that would be it. The one and only thing I had asked for, was a Fanciful Flight Angel. It was all I wanted. For those who are not sure what that is, check it out here http://www.karenrossi.com/.

Come Christmas morning, we opened our gifts with my parents. To my disappointment, there was no Angel. But I let that go, Christmas means more to me than that. So then we preceded to get ready for lunch and a second Christmas at my FH parent's house.

We all arrived at his parents, his sister and her husband, my parents, and us. It was time to have Christmas all over again. But my FH was insistent on me opening one of my gifts first before everyone got started, and to my surprize it was a gift from him. It was my Angel! I took it out of the box to show everyone, and looked it over and was about to return it to the box. But my FH was giving me this weird look (along with his mom). It was then that I looked at the charms dangling from the Angel, and to my surprize there it was, my diamond dangling there with all the other little charms. I know my mouth dropped to the floor. My FH took the ring off the angel, and as he placed it on my finger said "Will you marry me?" I of course responded "YES!" At this point the tears came. This was the biggest surprize of all! It meant so much to me too, that he proposed in front of his family and mine.

And here we are planning our Fairytale Wedding in Disney! Sometimes I have to pinch myself!
