my dad, a lifelong Brooklyn Dodgers fan, must really have wanted to impress my Bronx-native mom. their first date was at Yankee Stadium. yep, he took her to see the Bronx bombers.
Cute question. My Mom and Dad went on their first date at the Club Charles, where they went on to win a bunch of dance contests. I still have their trophies. The Club Charles is still there, but a lot different than when my parents frequented there. The neat thing is the last time I was there I met John Waters, the famous Baltimorean filmmaker.
I don't know what their first date was, but I know the story of their first meeting.
They were both on the train from NYC to Floral Park. The entire car was empty except for my Mom. My Dad went up to her and said, "Is this seat taken?" The rest is history.

I have no idea where my parents went on their first date. I'll have to ask my mom. I do know that they met at the pool at Palisades Amusement Park (long since closed .)
Hmm...Funny that so many of us know how our parents met, but so few know where they went on their first date.
Like everyone else, I have no idea where they went on their first real date. They actually met at a "Beatles" party (girls only) that my mom's best friend was having that my dad and some of his friends crashed.
This was back in the 1940's. Both of my parents moved to Baltimore Maryland from other states. My mom lived in a female rooming house but took her meals in the male rooming house where my dad lived. The owner of his house was a match maker and seated them together at dinner and the rest is history.
My mom was a counter girl at Woolworths and Dad was a bag boy at the National. He used to go for apple pie and a glass of milk on his break and they would flirt. My dad is legally blind so he never had a car and would take Mom on dates riding on the handlebars of his bike!
I don't know where their first date was either. But they met in a bar and Mom let him give her a ride home home that night. She would have killed me if I would have gotten into a car with a guy I just met. But she said she just knew she could trust him.
My parents met in a bar. First date was to pizza and the Wizard of Oz. They were engaged 1 month after they met, married in 3 months and still togeter 28 years later
