On our trip 2 years ago my hubby and I were wearing our Anniversary Buttons. We walked into the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot when one of the cast members approached my husband and ask my husband his name. He told him and the cast member said " Ah yes, you match the description someone is looking for you. " My heart went into over drive because this trip we didn't have our children. I thought one of our family members were looking for us. We followed the cast member to this back room and he had us dial an extension. It was Mickey Mouse. He just wanted to Wish us a very happy anniversary then the cast member wrote us little certificate. It was a really cool experience. Has anyone else had a neat experience like this? I just find it neat to hear other experiences! :dance3:

During my visit a few weeks ago, I was celebrating my b'day (2 weeks late) and had a Birthday Celebration button on.

My friend and I were walking thru shops on Main Street at MK, trying to make our way toward the park entrance while everyone else was lining up for a parade.

I was stopped by the Barbershop Quartet, who sang me a Happy Birthday song (not the usual Happy B'day to you, etc.) in 4 part harmony. It was completely unexpected and I had never heard of that before, so it made me feel quite special!

That even sounds neat. I'm sure the singing was great too. :):thumbsup2 The other thing that happened on that trip was We were at wolfgang puck and we had the dining plan I wanted a lemonade and the waiter told me it wasn't part of the dining plan. So I ordered a coke. When he came back with the drinks he brought me a lemonade. It I felt like he cared. Made it a great visit. To me it is the little stuff that makes Disney so magical!

We were picked to be the Family of the Day at DHS in 2008!!! That's one magical experience I will NEVER forget :)

We haven't visited the parks yet. Our first trip is in 12 days :yay:

But last January, while visiting family, we went to Downtown Disney for the day. My daughter (then 5 years old) had the BBB makeover at 8am in the morning and while she was being magically transformed into Cinderella, they asked if she would be an honorary princess and "open" the World of Disney store at 9am! She was THRILLED! She got to stand there all dressed up while they introduced her. Then, DD got to move the rope and announce "the world of Disney is now open".

Needless to say, that sparked her desire to go to the "real Disney world". She and ds8 will be so excited when we announce Christmas morning that we are leaving Jan 1st to go to the "real Disney world". I can't wait. :)

We had a few this past week:

My daughter, Lainey was chosen to talk to Crush. This rocked her world. She is a HUGE Finding Nemo fan.

She was also chosen on the Jungle Cruise to "steer."

My youngest, Solomon had a special moment with Scorcerer Mickey in Hollywood Studios that has made me a HUGE Scorcerer Mickey fan.

Julianne is a HUGE tinkerbell fan and when they met she was bummed for her sister that she didn't get met Repunzel yet. Tink sprinkled pixie dust on her and she exclaimed "THAT was REAL pixie dust mama!"

The next day we got to meet Repunzel. (The pixie dust worked ;) ) and she saw Lainey's Repunzel dress so she pulled her out of the line and hugged her!

My son, Xander had a special time playing peek a boo with Pooh and Lotso.

The Guitar Guy sang a song about my husband and I in Animal Kingdom. My husband video recorded it and it is such a treasure!

I just got home and I can't wait to go back! :lovestruc

We had a similar experience:

When a CM at the American Adventure saw our anniversary buttons, he asked for my last name, and then said there was a phone message for us. I actually got worried for a second, thinking maybe there really was someone looking for us, but instead when we dialed the extension, we got the anniversary message from Mickey. No certificate, though, but still a great experience!

One other CM who really made my day was Eduardo at Tutto Italia. He was a great server, but then we started chatting about Italy, and how much DH and I want to go there someday, and he gave us his personal e-mail address and told us to write him if we're ever going to Naples. He offered to show us around the town personally! Really nice offer, and we hope to take him up on it someday :goodvibes

The most magical thing for us was back in 2000. My son was 5 and my daughter was 12. It was our first trip to WDW. We were waiting outside the Crystal palace for our early breakfast reservation. We were called in but nobody except our family was in the restaurant. Then out came Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore which were very popular with my son at that time. It turned out that he was picked to be Chef of the Day. They gave him a tall chef's hat. All the pooh friends helped him decorate a pancake with whipped cream, m&ms et. We still have the hat. My son is now 15. I will never forget tht day.

Hubby and I took his daughter and her family for their family visit in August 2010. My step=grandsons were 4 and 6 years old. The 6 year old LOVES Lady and the Tramp so I phoned Disney and made reservations at Tony's Town Square Restaurant. I mentioned to the reservationist who took our ADR that my grandson LOVES Lady and the Tramp and she asked his name. When we arrived at Tony's that day we were the only family waiting for lunch (we had one of the first ADRs of the day) and the Dapper Dans came in to sing to "open" the restaurant - we had never seen this on any schedule of events and I'm not sure if it is a regular happening but they seemed to know to look for my grandson and sang "to" him and his little brother - it was so special and he was SO happy - it made the trip! Just goes to show that the pixie dust is in the details.

But my last one was this October. My wife and I and our 2 dd were starting to walk down main street when a cast member came over and asked us if we were enjoying ourselves . I still get goosebumps when your walking down mainstreet, it must of shown, because he said our smile was magical. He then asked if we wanted to be the grand marshal in the parade! First day first five minutes of our vacation can it get any better!!!

On our honeymoon my DH & I were stopped by a CM. He asked us for our name & then the state we were from. I was sooo confused. He then said "You are the two we have been looking for!" When we got the message it was from Mickey & Minnie singing "Here comes the Bride." It was so cool & totally unexpected.

We got front row seats at Beauty & the Beast again a CM stopped us & said "we've been waiting for you, please come with me" and he escorted us to the front row.

We also got all kinds of little things along the way confetti, congrats dessert, etc. I reminded my husband that my Minnie ears & veil had been TOTALLY worth it! This is one of the best reasons to honeymoon at DIsney, you aren't just another tourist. We are going for our first anniversary in 14 days! Hoping for a little more magic!

Too many to list but the last one was when my DDIL got up early and snuck out to get us fastpasses on Toy Story. She didn't know you can't get one for someone not in the park. She tried and of course it didn't work. She must have looked so sad because one of the CM took pity on her and took her to the front of the park. She told them what she was trying to do and they told her sorry that was the policy. She was getting ready to leave and he said BUT this time I will help you out but don't try this again! He then did something so she could go back and get our FP's. :woohoo:
So now she is going back to the bus when no one is leaving (only an hour after opening) and a bus stops and says to her "where have you been, I've been waiting for you!" He takes her back to the resort. She had the whole bus to herself and he entertained her the whole ride back! Needless to say she was THRILLED and so were we!:)

We've had some good ones, but this one from a few weeks ago was amazing! DD (4) met Aladdin and Jasmine at the MK on Wednesday, but Friday night at MVMCP she wanted to see them again- especially Aladdin in his Prince Ali clothes. Aladdin remembered her and was having fun with her. As we were leaving he called her back and then called me over with her and asked her if she would like to come back in a little while and ride the Magic Carpets with him and Jasmine. We were told by their handler to return in an hour. When they finished with their meet and greet, they came over and took her by the hand and took her to the Magic Carpets with them. It was amazing. She was so happy!!!! We have watched the video at home a few times, and she still starts jumping up and down every time she sees it!

The whole thread has reminded me why I love Disney, but this one is awesome.

We had quite a few that I find magical, mainly because we always go on special occasions.

1. Our second day in the parks on our Honeymoon, we were given a Fastpass good for any Fastpass ride on any day/time at HS. We rode ToT like three times in a row with that, a regular Fastpass and regular line.

2. I got one of the 'someone wants to talk to you' calls from Goofy on my Birthday.

3. Also on our Honeymoon, we went to check out Lights, Motors, Action. They weren't seating yet, but the CM at the front told us what time to come back. When we got back, she had two discontinued 'Just Married' pins for us. We got a lot of comments on them from other CMs since they were no longer available.

4. This one was just my wife's favorite part of the vacation. We were there just after one of the Pirates movies opened. We were in MK right near PotC and had just gotten a frozen lemonade and sat down to rest. We looked up and Captain Jack Sparrow was walking past. Rin just kinda looked at him like 'Wait, who, what?' He looked over and waved to her, and her day was made.

My 5 year old son had just ridden HM for the first time. He hated it and was sitting on the bench outside bawling. We were trying to comfort him, but he was mad at us for making him ride it. A wonderful CM came up to him, sat down and started talking about what scared him. They spent 5 minutes talking and my son stopped crying. He then asked us what our son's favorite treat was. We said ice cream so he gave us a special card for 3 free ice creams at any park. He then asked what our sons favorite ride was. We told him it was Pooh, so he gave us 3 fastpasses for Pooh.

It's been 6 years and my son still talks about how cool that was!

That sound so cool. Disney sure knows how to make everyone stay magical. Just another reason I LOVE Disney

After going to Disney for YEARS, we had our first Magical Moment in November. I had gone up to order food at one of the counters in Epcot in the US location (where they have the Turkey Legs). We gave our order and were told that they had a "special table" for us. They escorted our party (Me, DH, DS11 and DS9) to a table that had a table cloth, candles, and real china. When our food was ready they brought it over to our table. We got a lot of strange looks from passer by's and lots of folks stopped to asked what we did to get that table. It was very unexpected and a nice way to end our day and our trip! :wizard:

While on our Honeymoon at Pleasure Island, a CM gave us tickets to the premier of the movie Dick Tracy. We were able to attend the "red carpet" and met Dustin Hoffman, Warren Beatty, and Paul Sorvino.

We were in Germany on my husband's birthday. My kids were brought back into the kitchen, dressed in chef coats and hats and decorated a birthday cake for their dad.

In the Magic Kingdom, we happened upon the Sword in the Stone show in front of the carousel. My daughter was chosen to try to pull the sword from the stone, and it rose up! She was given a crown and cape and declared "Ruler of the Realm" for the day. I don't think they do this show anymore.

We were at the evening magic hours (when you needed to pay extra for it). The characters back then hung out at the hub in front of the castle for the late night hours. My older children were riding rides with my husband and my two younger children and I spent two hours alone with characters in front of the castle. Goofy sat on the ground and played with my daughter, while chip and dale entertained my son. Minnie was a delight and they were all in character the entire time.

Unfortunately, our recent trips have not had the same "magical" experiences that we used to have, maybe because the kids are teens now, or possibly because those experiences are much more limited.

Last year we were at the CBR, DH had the kids while I went to get a drink. He turned to check on DS (age 6) and DD (age 3) had come down the kiddie slide, slipped and hit her head. I came over a few minutes later and DD was screaming and had a huge bump on her head. I don't panic about medical stuff, but she scared the heck out of me. I got a lifeguard who got a supervisor. They called an ambulance for me. They checked her out and said that it was just a bad bump, but to call if she showed any signs of concussion (sp?). She had a big bump on her head, this was the last night of our trip. Thankfully she was fine, but we were pretty upset.

The next day, was our last day at the MK. We went to get on to the teacups and saw Alice walking around. We hung out so that we could get a picture with her, there wasn't a line, so we weren't sure what to do. She was getting on to the teacups with another child. Another woman started complaining that she wasn't taking pictures, and that a child got to go on the teacups. I never complain about stuff like that because Disney does so much with sick children, there may be a very sad reason why that child got to ride the teacups with Alice. I nicely explained that to the woman, that shut her up. After the ride she was taking pictures. DD has a mural in her room of Alice. When the kids went to take her picture I had DD tell Alice about her room. When Alice heard this she asked if DD would like to ride the teacups with her! I couldn't believe it, we met up with her 30 min later and both kids got to ride the teacups with Alice. It was amazing, the kids were besides themselves. I figured that was karma for DD getting hurt, and for me being patient.

I'm loving this thread. DD has had many magical moments, many that have already been mentioned, but I'm still  happy tears. I still think we need a tears of joy smilie.:cutie:
