...and have you ever seen a now famous artist before they hit it big?

My first concert was between 7th & 8th grade when I saw Joan Jett & The Blackhearts at The Great Allentown fair. Can you figure out how old I must be?

My most recent concert was Blues Traveler at The Soiled Dove in Denver.

When I was in college, Spin Doctors were playing frat parties and Blues Traveler was playing local bars and campus events. Sadly, I never saw either of them...wasn't really my scene.

My first was Color Me Badd and The Party. My latest I think was... crud... Lollapalooza? I can't honestly remember.

I can't remember my first. I didn't really start going to concerts until college, but even then I preferred small clubs to huge arenas.

I've seen lots of now-famous bands at tiny clubs back in the day. I guess the most memorable would be Green Day and Radiohead. :thumbsup2

I haven't been to a big show in ages, but still get out to see local acts every now and the.

My first concert was Bruce Springsteen in 1980 at the then Brendan Byrne Arena in NJ. My last concert was Bruce Springsteen in 2005 at the St. Petersburg Times forum. Hmmm, I see a pattern here.

I saw Howard Stern at the Club Bene in Sayreville, NJ and Bon Jovi came out to sing their new single, "Runaway". The band was just about to explode into the rock stars they have become.

Let's see...I'm pretty lame and didn't go to a concert until I met DH! So my first real concert was Tim McGraw & Faith Hill on their Soul 2 Soul tour. My latest was the 2005 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas night 2...

I'm pretty sure the first major concert I went to was The Beatles in 1964. They were at the old Boston Garden and we were in the first balcony maybe 200 feet away.

Last concert I saw was at the Fleet Center (or whatever they're calling it this month  ) in 2003. Simon and Garfunkel. To be a bit more accurate, I did see Eric Burdon at EPCOT last Spring.

My first was Hanson when I was in like 2nd grade.

My last was Bruce Springsteen's The Rising tour with the E Street Band. Me and my dad went as part of my Christmas present. We sat at the very top section, but it was right in front of the stage. There was a large bald guy on the floor like right in front of the stage. He wasn't heavy, just built very large. He looked like a body guard or wrestler type. Anyways, he had a full cup of beer in one hand. He was bouncing around and spinning in circles and head banging. That was my entertainment for part of the concert. Anyways, he never spilled a single drop of the beer through all his jumping around. LOL.

My first concert was when I was in jr high. It was The Jets, Stacy Q and the guy who sings "We dont have to take our clothes off to have a good time" (I can't remember his name). My parents took me.

The first concert I went to with friends was Bon Jovi at the Forum.

The last concert I went to was Prince.

And two groups that I saw way way way before they were big were Sublime and No Doubt. In college I went with a friend to see a ton of bands, some have actually had hits and made it on the radio even. Can't remember all of them though.

My first concert was Men At Work, at the Universal Amphitheatre, now known as the Gibson Amphitheatre.

Last concert was They Might Be Giants at Pops, IL.

When I was in high school. I'd sometimes hear a local band playing at the kegger parties. They were pretty good. Called themselves No Doubt, but they hadn't yet gotten Gwen to start singing with them yet. (I think she was only 13 or 14 at the time and not old enough/taken seriously.)

My first concert was Pat Benatar at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. The last was Sarah McLachlan at the Wachovia Center in Philly.

However, I did see Kathy Griffin at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ last week, does that count?

First? RUSH SUNYA Ballroom, 1976 or so.

Latest...I guess Bo Bice was the last one I saw. Wow, that was going on two weeks ago. I see a concert a week on average :thumbsup2 Next is the New Cars and Blondie next week--I don't even remember the date.

Bands/Artists I saw before they made it big:

REM at some hole in the wall (capacity *maybe* 200) that was later torn down to make way for the arena in Albany, NY, 1982.

Living Color in some dump in NYC (Trax?) in fall of 1984

Joey Belladini (Singer of Anthrax) playing in a band called "Triffid" in Schenectady NY in the early 80's.

Shannon Larkin (drummer Godsmack) playing in the club band Wrathchild when he was 16.

Gary Cherone (Extreme, Van Halen) and Paul Geary (Extreme, manager of Godsmack and Fuel) in The Dream, early-mid 1980's in Boston.

Alice In Chains in some dump in Seattle in early 1990 before Facelift was released.

Lou Graham's keyboard player, Andy Knoll when he was in the band Alpha Centori from Ilion, NY in the early 1980's.

Britney Fox in early 1987 when they couldn't get a booking agent to sign them, playing at a venue (Airport Something?) in Allentown, PA.

The Goo Goo Dolls in 1986 at the Penny Arcade in Rochester.

Guns & Roses opening for Loudness in 1986 at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY

I'm sure there's a ton more...

Anne

Check out these complete opposites.....

First was New Kids on the Block when I was 13.

Last was Depeche Mode a few years ago over in Atlanta (that was the 5th time I'd seen them)

My first was the Osmonds in 1977?? but my first REAL concert was Journey w/ the Babys in 1980...Jackson, Mississippi ( this was back when it wasn't strange to take a road trip, at 13, with your friends) My last was last year?? Judas Priest w/ Queensryche...Jones Beach Theatre. There were very many in between....good times. :)

I think my first concert was Bon Jovi - Cinderella opened for them...

My most recent will be this Tuesday - Bruce Springsteen! :cool1:

my first real show was the rolling stones.

The most recent show was a smaller show with The Sounds and Morningwood, before that it was Bon Jovi.

The next show is next month, POISON!!

My first concert was New Kids on the block. I was 15 and went with my best friend.

My last concert was Selena at the houston Rodeo the year before she was murdered. My dh (bf back then)draged me to see her. The funny part about it all was that I don't speak Spanish!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Gosh now thinking about it I need to get my butt to a concert. I haven't been in a really long time.

My first concert was Journey, probably around 1982.

Most recent was Jimmy Buffett - just went to see him Sunday.

My first was Donny and Marie when I was in 5th grade. Then it was New Kids on the Block and a couple years later I saw Nelson. There were a bunch of concerts when I was in college but the last one I saw was John Michael Montgomery, at least 5 years ago. I need to get out more!

I'll play...

I've actually seen hundreds of concerts having dated rockers in my past and their groups usually backed up the big groups when they came to town...

But first concert ever was when The Young Rascals played at my high school when I was 13. Enjoyed immensely.

Last concert. Clay Aiken.

Oh...I guess I take that back - saw Davy Jones at Epcot a few weeks ago!

Hmmm, before they were famous.... Til Tuesday. They played the Boston scene long before their records. Not a hugely famous band but most will have heard the song, "Voices Carry".

My first concert was Ricky Martin (way back when he had long hair), but I think it was more of a show than an actual concert. Went with my sister.

My last concert was this past weekend, Ricardo Arjona. :cool1:

I'm going to take my oldest niece to see Ally and AJ... which reminds me that I have to buy the tickets. :rolleyes1
