What was your favourite breakfast as a child?

Generally cold cereal. Sometimes for a real treat mom would put butter, sugar, and cinnamon on english muffin halves and put them under the broiler until they were all bubbly and crispy. Delicious!

As a kid I liked breakfast cereal or oatmeal during the week. Cold cereal would be Trix, frosted flakes or cheerios. Of hot cereals only like oatmeal. Weekends mom would make French toast and bacon, or scrambled eggs and bacon. Yum. Loved her French toast.

As ad adult, not much different but my choice of cold cereal is nothing with added sugar. Still only like oatmeal and eat that nearly every day in the winter. Don’t eat breakfast meat anymore on a regular basis. If we go out for breakfast, once in awhile I will get french toast or pancakes but more often it’s an egg & cheese on an English muffin. Occasionally, cheese omelette w/rye toast, no potatoes. I ask for a light amount of cheese and even then it’s too much.

Bagels with cream cheese and lox, which we mostly had on holidays and special weekends because lox is pricey and my parents liked real bakery bagels, not the commercially bagged or frozen kind.

On a regular day, we were mostly a cereal house, never sugary stuff unless we were on vacation, so usually Rice Krispies and Cheerios.

If we were out for breakfast, I liked to order waffles and whatever kind of breakfast potatoes they had.

Biscuits and white gravy, still love it. If I wasn't feeling well, oatmeal and cin. toast (toast with butter then sprinkle cin. and sugar on it). That is still my go to comfort breakfast.

Farina with a pat of melting butter in the middle and heavy cream encircling the edges.

/
Sugar Smacks (runners up are FrootLoops and Cocoa Krispies).
Dropped (poached) eggs on toast.
Panfried red tomato slices on toast.
But my very favorite was the "stack-up." My mom would take a piece of hot buttered toast, put bacon on the toast, then a fried egg or two on top. She'd then cut it it carefully, so we ended up with 16 perfect little squares, each with a bite of toast, bacon, and egg stacked up on top of each other.
