We have stayed at several different resorts at WDW. I think my favorite will always be CBR. This was our very first stay ever and that may be why it seems so special.

We had never been to Florida before and this was really our first ever family vacation. Up to this point we had always used our vacation time to travel "home" and visit family.

We really could not get enough of everything WDW had to offer and I guess that may be why we have now been back 6 times since and have 3 more trips already booked.

What is your favorite resort stay and why?

We were planning a trip in 1997 after many, many years of not visiting Disney.
We have a family condo in Cocoa Beach and visited every year in the eighties.

Having 4 children tuitions and weddings prevented us from returning.

In the early winter of 96 my DH was in a terrible auto accident. He was in the trama center for 9 days. It was touch and go. Happy to say he is still with us, but sadden that the 97 trip had to be canceled.

In the fall of 97 I started planning our next trip with our then 7 year old grandson. We had never stayed on site. Knowing very little about the on-site property a travel agent book us a trip for April of 98 at Dixie Landings.

From the minute we walked into this resort to the last day of our trip it was magical. More then I could ever remember. Was it the fact that we stayed on site? Maybe. Was it the fact that my DH was there to share in this trip? Maybe. Was it the fact that this was granson first trip? Maybe.

Whatever the reason I say Thank You Disney, It was truely A Dream Come True.

We had a wonderful stay at CSR two years ago. It seemed like we spent more time at the resort that trip enjoying the pool and just walking around the resort. It's so peaceful, even during the day, and at night the sunsets over those earth-toned buildings was quite beautiful.

That was also the year there were so many wildfires close to Disney. We took some awesome pictures of the smoke in the twilight... looks almost surreal.

Great topic, Trekker! Thanks for the chance to relive those good memories. :)

Any stay at the Polynesian, especially the one day we spent there earlier this month. It was just DH and I and we got to spend the entire day enjoying the resort.
As for non Polynesian, I would have to say our stay at ASMO last September. My kids just loved the theming(and so did I)!

4 years ago DIxie Landing, they from there it just got better, WL, then YC. each oe has it's own special memories that I don't think I could ever relive. Sure I can go to these resorts but it will never be the same feeling. Those past 3 trips were the BEST!:D

My aunt & uncle used to live in Orlando while my uncle was one of the engineers helping to build Epcot, MGM, CBR....so we used to stay with them and visit MK or EPCOT for a day while there. Last year when I took my DGD was the first time I'd stayed onsite since my DF took us back in the 70's & we stayed at CR.

Anyway, last year my DGD & I stayed at ASMu and we had a blast. Even so, I think this year at AKL with both my DD & DGD might be even more magical. Thanks to the DISboards, I've got all kinds of surprises in store for them.;)

Our first stay at WL in 1998 was really magical. The resort is so beautiful at Christmas time.

Last year we stayed at YC Concierge in early December and it was spectacular !!!! I really got spoiled. LOL

It's hard to pick out a favorite resort stay because they all are magical but one of the best ones was at OKW. I was suppost to be going w/ my new DH and my family but they couldn't make it, so I thought. WHen we got to our 1 bedroom suite It was covered in flowers. I was going around to every room looking and smelling the flowers adn my husband opened the door between the rooms and it was my family boy was I suprised. He had went and changed our ressies to a 2 bedrrom and booked my family on the same flight. Now I know why he got us first class! It was wonderful. My favorite moment was when my DD arrived in WDW for the first time. It amazes me how children look when they see it for the fisrt time. I just love it.

GF At christmas 2000. The hotel was elaborately decorated and looked so magical. The kids truly loved all of the characters (which were dressed up in xmas gear) who met in the lobby every morning being greeted by the live band playing xmas tunes. We booked a tower concierge and xmas day was amazing. This was our best vacation ever and it was worth every penny we paid. Can't wait to go back: GF is one amazing resort.

The best one for us was our first together trip in November of 2000. It was also our first (and only so far) on site stay. We stayed at the All Star Sports and we called it our engagment trip. We were engaged in July that year. I don't know if it was because it was our first trip, or our first on-site stay or the fact that we were just engaged but we had the most wonderful time. Can't wait to go back with my now husband. :) :D

We have stayed at almost all the resorts, but our favorite hands down is our home at OKW. It just feels like home to us. We've been members since it opened in 1991 and our kids think of it as our second home that just happens to be in WDW, with neighbors who just happen to be Mickey Mouse and Company!!!

I say our ASMo trip in January this year.
DH liked CSR best (January '01). I know he liked the Pepper Market real well and just CSR in general.
I loved ASMo, for all reasons from price to great CM's. The only downside I found to ASMo was the too small laundry facility.
And I loved Andy's Room. We just had the perfect room location in January. I am hoping to be as lucky in January '03. :)

Well, I can't really complain about any of them!

Our 1st was at Dixie Landings in 1993, and the 1st extended vacation for DH and myself ever. It was our postponed honeymoon. DH had never been to WDW, so everything was very magical, and romantic. Our only complaint was that our river view turned out to be a view of the backside of the pillar at Magnolia Terrace. The resort wasn't even full, and had we realized, we could have requested something else...but we were just so happy to finally be there, we dealt with it.

Our 2nd was also at Dixie Landings, but in Alligator Bayou, bldg 14. This was a great room, with a great view, and very romantic. It was also our 1st vacation alone since we had our DD, and she was 4... so that added to the Magic.

Our 3rd trip, was our DD's first, when she was 6, and the G'parents went too. We stayed at WL, as that was the 1st choice of DH and DD. We were very impressed, overall, but I wasn't overly entralled by the rooms. Too dark, and too cramped.

Our 4th trip, we stayed at CBR... a gorgeously landscaped resort. OUr room was in Barbados 16, so it wasn't very accessible to anything, and we didn't have a car on that trip. Also, the other side of the family came, which definitely wasn't ideal! I would like to repeat this resort under better circumstances.

Our last trip was in January, and DH and I went alone. We stayed at the Contemporary in the South Wing, overlooking Bay Lake. I truly LOVED this resort... the bright energetic colors brightened the cold cloudy days, and the convenience and view was spectacular. I would definitely stay here again.

In 2 weeks we will be at the Courtyard Marriott LBV taking advantage of the $20.02 special (if you haven't tried, or tried and couldn't get rooms, call back, they have more available) I was able to get the one day I couldn't get before when I called back yesterday. This will be a very short trip, with DD in tow, and we will have our car, which will make it nicer.

In October, we will be trying PO-FQ for the 1st time, and I am definitely looking forward to trying another Disney resort!

Mine goes like this... After going to WDW with various friends & family members we bought into DVC. In order to avoid the "who should we invite first your family or mine" issue. We choose to ask non-family. My daughters daycare provider who is also a friend & her family.

I was nervous about the trip in the beginning as we had never been away with these folks before.
We booked OKW for 10 days after being at HRH for 2 and I can honestly say this was the best vacation I've ever been on! This one will be very hard to beat. It's a great memory! I hope they can join us again sometime.

My favorite resort stay was my May 2000 trip with my family and my best friend Melissa. My dad treated us to a stay at the BWI and the GF, and both were just fabulous. We had so much fun, and I loved seeing my parents' reaction to WDW as an adult. :)
