What was the most disappointing attraction closing?

Not really an attraction, but closed none-the-less was the magic store on Main st.
That was my absolute favorite store in WDW and bought something each time I went as a kid. I had a large sebatical from WDW in the 90's and when I returned to WDW in 03, it was gone. I was very disappointed. :-(

My most disappointing ride was Space Mountain. We would go to disney world almost every summer, and each summer it seemed to be closed for rehab. Until 1992...at the age of 20, I finally got to ride it! :cool1:

Oh, yeah!!! I remember that shop. I would save all year as a kid to buy a cool new mask at that shop. I had the Darth Vader, the C3PO and the Chewbacca. Too cool! :) It's been gone for so long now, I had totally forgotten about it.

Mr TOAD'S WILD RIDE!! I loved that ride!!

Not that I dont love the Pooh ride, I just wish they would of put it somewhere else and had both of them!!

I miss SKYWAY!! oh I loved to ride over the MK at dusk and see the castle all lit up in her glory!! It was just like heaven!!

I miss Alien too cause that was just a cool attraction, scary the first time but really cool the next hundred times! :)

MEMORIES!

Definately Mr. Toad and 20,000 Leagues. I rode both of those originally in DL as a kid and really loved them. Pooh is ok, but nothing special.

When they eventually close the Carosel of Progress, i will be deeply disappointed. I also miss Mr. Toads.

That also brings to mind Mike Fink's Keel boats with all of it's banter from the crew members.

I really miss Mr. Toads Wild Ride! Remember when you could buy Florida orange juice in the plastic oranges? That was my favorite snack/drink to get in the park. I haven't seen these availabe in years.

I also loved Hoizons and World of Motion. I guess I've been Epcot intensive since it opened. As far as Mr. Toad, I did like it but I like Pooh better. Have any of you Mr. Toad lovers seen the website, Virtual Toad, that is recreating the whole ride in 3-D digital animation? It's pretty amazing, so far, since it's still in production, but they have short clips and animation set up. You can can see it here http://virtual-toad.com/ if you'd like.

Just visited that website-- Absolutely amazing! It brought back so many fond memories (and a few tears to my eyes)! :sad1: I really miss that ride!

Miss because memories are attatched:
1. Canoes- my mom had to paddle by herself (and other forms of ridicule) because she leaned over and her hat fell in the water, so we all backpaddled to pick it up!
2. Mission to Mars- Again because of mom. She would always make us ride it, because she remembers when it was Mission to the Moon (Cue us teasing her about the journey being on horseback)
3. (Not yet mentioned) The "Tommorrow's child" song at the end of Spaceship Earth. Once, we got stuck there for, like, 15 minutes, listening to that song over and over and over...so I bought the WDW soundtrack and played it for mom just to hear her grit her teeth.
My insane love and obsession with Disney came from my mom, so I guess that why she's so connected with my favorite Disney memories!)

Miss on their own merits:
1. The Skyway- the easiest way to get from one place to another. Every trip to WDW or DL had a picture of us on the skyway. Now if you don't want to walk, your only option is the train!
2. The WORKING Disney animation studios. When I read there are no people inside, I didn't even go through this time. I was so excited after our 2002 trip, because I saw someone drawing a bear, and I about flipped when Brother Bear came out. Another trip, a guy had a rat, A LIVE RAT running around his desk.

I'll second the veiws about the Big Giant Hat at MGM. Relocate it. I'll also throw in the word EPCOT on top of Spaceship Earth. Its a given. We don't need it spelled out.

Horizons! I never got to ride it! And I guess I miss Toad, I rode it once and it didn't do much for me, besides I love Pooh to death. And the Skyway, WOM (never got to ride it), Lion King Show, and having the Timekeeper and Progress opened seasonally. I almost forgot! Submarine! God, I miss that...

ITA! I loved traveling via Skyway, and I loved the view of the park from above. I've never been to the Magic of Disney Animation; but without the animators, I think the magic would be gone, too (IMHO). I probably should try it before I judge too harshly, but my heart just wouldn't be in it.

I miss the skyway. I remember when I went with my cousins we got stuck for 15 + minutes over Mr Toads Wild Ride. It was nice to know that the Haunted Mansion was really close when you got off the skyway. Side Note:Treasure the time you have as a child because it is over in a flash. I'm an only child and my cousins treated me like a sister and still do. I will always be grateful!

1. Horizons - I COULD SCREAM ABOUT THIS ONE

Go here to view an entire video of the ride from begin to end...awesome...pass 2 is better quality for sure...get that one.

http://dizneyworld.com/horizons.htm

2. World of Motion - ARGH...bring us some more dark rides...I miss every one they have removed.

3. Original Journey Into Imagination - EPCOT is dying ;)

Same page as last link has videos of the entire old ride...the DIVX one is best.

4. DreamFlights

5. COP - the last two times I've gone - It has been closed...I'm hoping I can see it once more when I go next month.

Definitely Mr Toads! :sad2:
Who ever heard of a bouncing honey pot!!! :confused3
And I've learned to tolerate the new Journey Into Imagination. Scary to think they were going to scrap Figment all together!
:earsgirl:

ok number 1 by far 20,000 leagues under the sea. I have clear memories as a child totally believing I was well under sea-even afraid of the octopus tenticles. That blows all others away in my book
I also miss the "buckets" that was so cool and back in the 70's it didn't matter if there was lightening...
And more current Horizons..I remember fighting over what ending we wanted "undersea!!!"No outerspace....
ahhh memories....
