What was everyone's most disappointing attraction closing? 20,000 Leagues? Horizons? World of Motion? Wings? Mr. Toads? Let me know! It will be interesting to see peoples opinions.

Mine was definately Mr. Toads Wild Ride. Pooh is a fabulous replacement, but man-oh-man did I love that ride!

Also, what was the most disappointing rehab closing? Mine was actually this last January...."It's a Small World". That is always our first ride tradition, so it was pretty sad to see it down. My mother swears that "Pirates of the Carribbean" was closed when I was young, but I don't remember that.

But let me just say if "Haunted Mansion" was ever closed for rehab.....you wouldn't see me there that week. :)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for me. I fondly remember my poor mom standing in line with me in the ultra hot summertime FL sun for what seemed like hours because I HAD to ride this. I loved every second of riding it too - only got to do it once.

She passed away when I was 26 but I still enjoy thinking of our time together at WDW when I'm there. And a funny story - she was waiting for me to meet up with her once (I was a teenager then) and sitting on bench and Goofy sat down next to her. She had no idea he was there but a huge crowd formed around cause he starting imitating her, doing silly things, etc. and she didn't know why everyone was looking at her. Eventually she realized what was going on - definitely a magic disney moment. :earsboy:

I was SO upset when they closed Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I absolutly loved that ride.

I do like the new Winnie The Pooh on, and of course DS loves it.

But I really miss taking my wild ride with Mr. Toad.

I also really miss Horizons in Epcot (the one where you got to pick the ending of the ride). That was SO cool as a kid. Ok it was probably a little outdated by the time they took it out, but man was it a cool ride!

I agree about Mr. Toad's. I've only been to WDW once, in 1977. My brother was only 5 yo at the time and this was his favorite ride (he's always loved trains, so he loved the part where the train was coming at us-- it was all he could talk about for weeks after we got home!). We're planning another trip next year, and when we found out that Mr. Toad was replaced by Pooh, we were both crushed.

I'm keeping an open mind about Pooh until I see it, but I'm not sure about my brother. I think we'll also miss 20,000 Leagues, though nowhere near as much.

(Looking forward to Spring!)

I used to love the skyway ride!! But I really miss alien encounter!

At MK - I miss the Skyway. The line was always long but I enjoyed the view.
At Epcot I miss Horizons loved that smell of oranges.

mine is Mr. Toads

and I was definitely disappointed IASW was in rehab last may....my sons first trip and he didnt get to ride it....now when we go this year and I hear them say Its a Small World a zillions times, Ill probably wish it was in rehab again :rotfl2:

That is a great story about your mom Selket... when attraction close and we remember some of the great times we had on them with family and friends that are no longer with us... it makes it kinda hard to go and see the ride no longer there...

I miss Horizons alot, it was a great attraction and it was kinda cool to go from space to the ocean. I remember the smell of orange peel when you would round the corner to the orange grove scene...

Horizons :sad2:
I loved the part where you got to pick the end of the ride! :goodvibes

:hourglass 49 days till' our trip.......

Looks like Horizons and Mr. Toads is the current favorites. I agree, Horizons was a classic, especially the end. World of Motion was another classic disney ride.

I also saw someone mention Captain EO...that was a sweet attraction. My brother actually still has a "Hooter" stuffed animal from the Captain EO attraction.

And lastly, I could not agree more that the original Figment ride was sadly missed. Even though they have added the song again, nothing beats the Dreamfinder and the original ride.

I loved the original Figment ride. The new one is ok, but did not have the spark for me that the original one did.

Alien Encounter I realy liked that attraction can't see the big deal of it being so scary :cool1:
