What was the free stay special at BCV?

What was the special last year if you purchased BCV?

Weren't some people offered stays at a WDW hotel for purchasing?

Was this for new members or for add-ons also?

I just don't remember the details.

We bought in March before the resort opened and we were offered a 7 day stay at a WDW resort, (poly, GF, etc) OR $10 off per point that would be applied to the downpayment.

We opted for the $10 off

Pinnie, I think it was $5 off, at least that is what it was in February. You could choose the hotel stay or $5 off without having to sell back any of your points. At the time the price was $75 and I paid $70 per point.

We bought on April 2, 2002 and the points were $80 and with the $10 credit, it was down to $70. We kicked ourselves because when we went to do an add on in Sept, the price was $84 with NO incentives. We did it anyway and are now looking for more points again....after we put a new roof on this house.....that last storm did us in big time.

We took the free stay which was based on the number of points you bought. We had a 7 night stay at the Polynesian for our initial purchase and a 3 night stay for a 100 point addon. We were going to the Polynesian anyway and our stay was worth lots more than the $5/point off that was in effect when we bought. Worked well for us.

What were your choices for the 7 night stay. Was it only certain veiws, etc. at certain hotels?

This was only for purchasers during the time when BCV were for sale but could not be occupied because they weren't open yet. I think this free deal shut down in July when the BCV opened.

There were blackout dates for the free stays.

It was for anyone purchasing at BCV....minimum addon to get the deal was 100 points as I recall.

As Deb & Bill said it was offered because when we purchased...2/3/02 in our case...the BCVs weren't ready.

The free night stays were available at all the hotels except GF....not DVC properties either. The stays had to be completed by THIS June 30.

Wonder if DVC will have the same kind of offer for SSR if BCV is sold out before SSR is ready for occupancy?

I do remember that my 105 pt add-on got me the current year's pts, which was 2002 pts, and I got a free 3 night stay at any resort, which I used this past spring break at Beach Club. For the free stay they could put you in whatever type of room they wanted. I ended up in a wood view room right across from the door that goes out to the quiet pool, so I was happy. So I used my banked and current year's pts for part of the vacation, and then got 3 night's free.

There were quite a few choices. We had a 3 night stay at the Beach Club (regular view) in May (2002) and a 7 night stay at the Polynesian (garden view) in August (2002) .

The Grand Floridian was NOT a choice or we would have picked that one. There were several others that were included.

I asked about the Contemp. and they told me the room would be wing room, so I figured of the choices, the Polynesian/Beach Club would be the best choices for our needs.

It was a pretty sweet deal because we were allowed to keep our points, too. So, we made another trip to WDW for MNSSHP (Nov1) and another trip to WDW for New Years last year.

It would be cool if they offered another incentive like that again!

3/02 we bought 310 points in BCV and got 12 nights in the Poly.
I remember doing ht emath in the office there and the 12 nights had cost way more than whatever the point discount was.
(we also got to bank all our 2002 points to use 2003)
