What was the first gig you remember going to?

I don't know what it is so I don't think I've been to one yet.

Like a local band at a bar? If so, it was probably the band my brother was in.

Dad and I hunted frogs in our pond when I was about 10, but we used a .22, not a gig.

Chicago and The Beach Boys with my parents when I was maybe 11. Van Halen when I was in high school, on my own with friends.

The first concert I paid to go to was DEVO at the Fox Theater in ATL, spring 1981.

Rolling Stones, 1965, at the original McCormick Place Aire Crown Theater, seating a little less than 5,000. And they are still ticking.

Mine was Hank Williams Jr at 4 years old. Can't say it was the most appropriate but I loved the song Kawliga.

Typically a gig refers to a concert you perform in, not one you go to watch.

that's the way I've always understood it too.

When I was a freshman in high school marching band, I first heard that that term when our marching band "got a gig" to perform in the filming of a commercial for our local tv station. We went up to Los Angeles for an afternoon and filmed...but I don't know if I ever actually saw our band on tv...

years ago at a pond owned by a farmer neighbor
I fell in when my boots got stuck in the muck:rolleyes:
but Kermit's legs were mighty tasty
