What was the best deal ever offered for AKV?

I bought the other day AKV and I purchased 500 points with 6.25 discount and DVC matched the 500, but of course they have limitations for use at SSR or DL. But at the time I was at the DVC office I was unaware that cast members received discounts, and the conversation came up and was given an additional 20 percent off since my sister in law works at Disney part time. This is where my decision became much easier after hearing I was allowed to have all the current promotions plus the cast member discount. I believe it came to 75.20 per point after all was said and done direct from DVC at AKV.

I am very new to this, having been to the Preview Center a few days ago. Thinking of buying 160 pts @ AKV, incentives offered were 160 pts to use at SSR only (or World Passport) prior to 10/3/09, $1000 "gift card" which is off the purchase price of 16640 and pro rated dues til 5/09. My ? is...have you heard of better incentives to start...what about getting annual passes free? thanks!

We bought AKV in July 2007. Here is what we got.

Bought 160 AKV Points - at $104 per point.
Received $8 per point discount - So, our actual cost was $96 per point.
Received 320 Developer Points - Use anywhere for the next year.
Received Feb UY which had been sold out prior.

So, a good deal for us. We rented the developer points, which paid for the downpayment and we used the rest for our 4 night Disney cruise later that year.

You sure about this? If so, we got took I guess. We were there the end of July, first part of August 2007 and at the time they were offering $8 off per point at AKV, or $10 off per point at SSR. The other choice was double developer points, but it was an either/or proposition, not a both.

We went with AKV at $104/point (50 year lease instead of about 47 at SSR) and took the double developer points, which was 400 points for our 200 point purchase. The points were deeded to Jambo House so the developer points were good anywhere for a year (we got two stays at HHIR and a long stay at OKW this past summer....had to use during peak stay times or not sure we could have used them all up).

We got a June Use Year, so 200 points immediately and another 200 points the following June before the developer points expired, so we did a lot of banking of purchased points that we are still benefitting from.
