What was one item you wish you had for YOURSELF after labor & delivery?

A chicken cheesesteak! But alas, I had a c-section. Anyway, on one of those delivery shows, I saw that in Japan, the mom got a full spa treatment before discharge (massage, facial, hair and make-up) Now that was awesome. It's amazing how things are done differently in various cultures.

I made sure that I packed slippers for the second kid!

We also packed snacks for DH so he didn't have to leave at critical times - but it didn't help. How can a man miss transition all three times??

When I was notified 15 minutes after DH left for the night that our third DS was very, very sick, I would have liked to have had a list of friends' phone numbers with me.

I second the reading material. I'm not used to watching TV. I think reading would have calmed me more than channel surfing. DS is fine, by the way. He had to stay in the hospital eight days, but he's alive!

My DH, he was in Puerto Rico working. I drove myself to the hospital and had DS all by myself in the middle of the night. That stunk, I would of gave anything for him to be their. Funny I just drove him to the airport 2 days earlier.
