Last night, at 3:00 AM, I bolted upright in bed while letting out a bloodcurdling scream! :o I became lucid enough to realize what I was doing and stopped, turning to reassure my DH that I was alright, but it was too late; he was already out of bed, ready to attack any threat to my well-being!! (Awww! What a guy! :D)

I'm kind of freaked out about this, though, as I've never actually screamed like that in my sleep before. All I know is that in my dream, someone was about to open a door. And then I woke up screaming. I guess my subconcious won't allow me to remember what was behind that door!!

So here's the question of the thread: Has anything like this ever happened to you?

And here's the fun part of the thread: What do YOU think was behind the door in my dream? :jester:

Its happened to me before Kara. Were you able to get back to sleep? I usually can't.

LOL Laura!

:p :p Laura!!! :teeth:

I did that before Kara. After I had a very bad automobile accident I had to stay with different family members until I was able to learn to do some tasks on my own. :) Apparently while staying with my brother and his family, I had a nightmare one night. Ummmm, I woke up because my SIL was yelling at me to wake up. My brother and SIL were both standing over me, trying to get their robes on, flicking lights on, trying to figure out what was going on. Apparently I let out a blood curddling scream that my almost deaf brother heard loud and clear. I woke up the entire household. :earseek: :teeth:

I tend to do most of my screaming and jumping in broad daylight, while wide awake, for no apparent reason.   :teeth:

Behind the door was: a big, giant, banana slug. :) ACK! That would make me scream.

What was behind you door? I think it was either TC's little mouse or one of Shep's decapitated snakes.

Laura -- EROS? Yep. That would do it! ;)

Kejoda -- It took a while, but I was able to go back to sleep. :)

Janice -- Scrambled Eggs? That definitely makes for a really funny image! I'm picturing opening a door, and scrambled eggs just pouring out!! LOL!

Maggie -- That sounds terrible!! I can't imagine having a bad dream and not being able to wake myself up! :(

As for Maggie and Browneyes suggestions -- ACK! Those would definitely make me scream!!! :o

Kara, honey, I was just busting you a little about your baby bird friends. :p

:D

Was it a closet door?

Maybe it was one of browneyes double/triple posts..

I had night terrors from about the age of 16 to 22. My parents never used to wake me, I used to scream and talk, sit up in bed with my eyes wide open. My Mom warned my DH when we got married, the first time I did it he almost had a heart attack. He woke me up for the first time and it has never happened again.

Boy, I'm glad that didn't happen while you were still living at home with your Mom and Dad !!!!!!!!! You would have scared us half to death!! I have an idea what/who was behind the door--but I'm not telling!! LOL!!

Well.....If that were MY Nightmare, it would be a giant, creepy looking spider behind that door. The spider would be big enough to knock on the door. LOL !

Janice -- Ohhh! I see!! :o ;) ;)

Maybe it was a QUADRUPLE Browneyes post!! ;)

Kallison - That sounds scary! I'm glad to hear that they seemed to have stopped!!

Mom - :)

Claudia - add "hairy" to that spider description, and I would scream, too!! I HATE hairy spiders!!
