What UYs are currently being sold at SSR?

I called over a week ago to have our information sent, so I could have a contract ready when we arrive in Feb. I hadn't received anything so I called on Saturday. Well, it appears the guide we were assigned to was on medical leave (even before I called) and nothing was sent. A very, very nice woman named Jen is taking care of everything and I should have all of my info by Tuesday.

Since I haven't rec'd my info yet, what I am wondering is what UYs are they currently offering? I read a couple of weeks ago August, then last week was September, then I just read a post that October and December were being sold. Is it too late to get August? Those other months are really too far out for us. We had hoped to get an August trip in this summer. And, no I don't want to take the "free" vacation, as we would much rather purchase at 85/pt. and have more of a downpayment.

I don't know the 'exact' answer to your question, however, I can tell you that I bought in to SSR the first week of Dec. and received an Oct. use year, which is exactly what I wanted.
I did the same thing you did, by not taking the ''free'' vacation.

We are working with Jenna and received our contract last Tuesday for a UY of August.

We just signed up Saturday, and got a UY of October. I don't know if we would have had other options, as I think October works better for us than August.

we bought in last week and our guide had our YU changed to Oct. as this works better for us.We were originally offered Aug. So talk to your guide about your particular vacation trends and they will be able to help you decide what works best/what else is available for you. Angel

Friends bought SSR yesterday and received an August use year.

We bought in 2003 - requested August use year and got it. We later added on, two more contracts, both with August use year. No problems at all.

We bought an add-on yesterday and the use year was March, same as our existing contract. Don't know if that was on purpose by our guide or not. I didn't even think about it.

The way my guide explained it on Sunday when I bought, was that August was part of the F&F promotion, along with lower interest rates and obviously the 15%.

We were given a UY of August, but also received a full year's worth of points right away. So, for us, 150 pts now, 150 more points in August 2006 - effectively half a year of "free" points as we won't have to pay maintainence fees on the August 05-January 06 portion.

I would assume that you could get a later UY than August but it would decrease the value of the extra points. I didn't care as I figured that vacation plans will change many times over the next 48 years or so so that no one UY would be any better than another.

So, if you're taking advantage of the F&F promotion (which I assume you are - pts are $83.30 not $85 though), then you should be getting points right away so should be all set for a trip before your UY arrives, whenever it is.

I was told that if you are buying DVC SSR for the first time, you'll probably be offered an August or September use year. However if you are adding on, they will give you your Anniversary month if they have that available. So that is probably how you got March even though others that have posted here received August - October anniversaries. Glad that worked for you!

We bought today and were offered Sept. I asked if they had anything earlier and he gave us June. I guess there's no harm in asking for the UY you'd prefer.

They told me today they only had a UY of august wahen I told the guide oh December would really work better for us he said he didn't think he had any Dec left but checked and we got December. lucky me!
