What used to be where Soarin is now? That building is just bursting at the seams...it doesn't feel like it was designed to handle the kind of crowds it now has.

Good point, there was never a "must-see" attraction in The Land. Just Kitchen Kabaret/Food Rocks, Living with the Land, etc....

Soarin' was an addition to the Land pavilion building. The queue area was formerly Food Rocks.

I think in the past, Living with the Land was considered the "big ticket" attraction there. It used (still uses?) FP and could get long lines in the afternoon.

Too bad that Kitchen Kaberet & Food Rocks couldn't have stayed there since they were building an addition anyways - I loved the kitchy humor. I love Soarin', I just want it all! lol

The huge building Soarin' is in now is brand new, same with a majority of the long queue line. But the entrance and exit and new waiting are and new bathrooms used to be Food Rocks and there used to be a little store with older bathrooms. Also the whole food court and seating area got a face lift. It looks awesome. They did a great job.

Except that on a busy day there just isn't enough room for all the people. t me if felt like being at a very busy airport.

I agree, I do not like the layout of the building either. When we were there (end of May), you had to walk up the ramp to get in past umpteen-thousand strollers, then to get down, you had to go through those halls around to the back and down. Everytime we did it (4 times in the 2 days were were there- 1 to get FP and 1 to use FP on 2 days), the stairs and the escalators werek PACKED. I did not like the feeling because I felt like my DD3 was going to get trampled. Of course, I carried her most of the time so I was exhausted also!!!!

Anyway, LOVED the Land because of Soarin', my kids really liked Circle of Life and we had some really good food at their food court!

I loved Food Rocks! and wished it could have remained (with an update) in addition to Soarin. I thought the food theme worked well within the Land. I can't wait to check out Soarin - it was being built the last time we were at WDW.
