i don't own an ecv. plan to take an extension cord to use in hotel room should i need one. what type to take? the regular household type (probably not), or the 3-prong lawn edger outdoor type?

You plan to rent an ecv for your visit? It will come with a charger that already has a certain length of power cord on it. One end of the charger plugs into the ecv, and the other end plugs into the outlet on the wall. You don't need to bring an extension cord.

You would need a heavy duty outdoor type one. If you can find a short one ( around 6ft) I would bring it. They don't recommend using an extension cord, but sometimes you just can't get close enough to a plug.

I wouldn't worry about an extension cord, but DO bring a power strip!!

Hotels are notoriously bad about having outlets in convenient places, and also having very "loose" outlets because they are used so much.

With the two of us, we bring two power strips. We have the ECV, two cell phones, two cameras, hubby's CPAP machine, and the laptop computer, so we consume a LOT of outlets.

I have been taking my powerchair to Disney for many years.

Houskeeping/mainenance have never failed to find me one when I asked.

I agree. We don't leave home without them.
