What type of car w/ Double Stroller and Luggage?

What type of car should we rent with 2 kids in car seats, luggage and a double stroller, will all this really fit into an average size car?

This is our first time traveling with two kids, as I am sure you can tell. I am little worried about the capacity of the trunk in an average size car.

That really depends on ho much luggage and how large it is. Most "average size" car trunks will accomodate two larger suitcases and a few other smaller pieces. If you will have three large suitcases, the only cars I've found that will work are something like a Lincoln Town Car; and I don't know that three large suitcases and a double stroller would fit in that. You'd be better off with a mini van or SUV.

I thought about the minivan but DH does not want a minivan or SUV (he is just being a bit difficult)

We had a full size car with Alamo last December. We were able to fit 3 25" wheeled cases, large single stroller (infant who was not sitting up yet needed special stroller, apparently), a 21" wheeled case, backpack (diaper bag) and 18" wheeled duffel in the trunk.

All five people--including infant in car seat--fit in the car interior. Thankfully!

How big is the double stroller...or more precisley: how small does it fold up? A really big double (like a double jogger) could be a problem for most car trunks while a smaller double will fit almost anywhere.

I would almost suggest taking the double to a car dealership and seeing how it fits in the trunk of a few different sized cars (or a rental car place.)

I agree. Trunk size can vary greatly even among similarly sized vehicles.

I seriously doubt all that would fit into the trunk of a car. Have you considered renting a double-stroller? How about shipping the stroller to your resort?

I have 3 kids and had a DS with us. The kids had to sit with there lages up on top of the stroller. I would bring some bungycords with you . So you can hold the trunk closed. Are you staying on Disney? Then send half your party with ME and rent the car this way you know it will all fit. This is what we did on our last trip. Wife and kids whent on Magic express and I got the rental car. Funny thing thay got to the resort before me.
