What "Trendy" Thing Should End NOW?

Yes, tattoos. Anyone think about what they will look like at 80?

Dont care - Love them! And I think the last thing I'll be worried about is my faded Tattoo's at age 80, when I got incontinence issues to be dealing with. :rotfl:

I had tattoo's before they were cool - Im allowed to have 'em! :cool1:

TREND that needs to go bye-bye?? Low - really low - cut jeans... I like em low but below by "baby fat" belly??? No thanks!!! :earseek:

Trust me - you will NOT be the only 80 year old with a tattoo!

Enjoy life NOW I say...don't worry what *some* people will think of you when you're 80.

Skateboard lingo. My son is driving me CRAZY.

That, and every single friend of his has the same skater haircut - he wants one, too, but his type of hair just won't do it. :rotfl:

My BF (and I) wanted to add this one too:

Millionnaire celebrities telling the rest of us to 'feed the world' and whatnot.

Don't get me wrong, I do give money to charities (of my choice) but find it rather odd to see these multi-millionnaire's trying to get me to give more (I'm a student with practically no money).
Also, I don't know about in the US, but over here we had this ad campaign for Live Aid (it's been banned now because it's not a charity, but political) where the likes of Cameron Diaz would stand there, wearing a white tee and a Live Aid rubber band, clicking their fingers (indicating how often a child dies of starvation in a third world country).

As you can tell, we're not fussed on Bob Geldof - I can't help but think that he's more about the publicity than helping the cause.

Not really a thing, more of an attitude. It's the "I am so overworked/overwhelmed gotta have my soup in a travel mug because I am so on the go that I cannot even stop for sustenance, must have my cell phone attached to my hip all the time cause the president of the PTA/O may call about needing more napkins for the bake sale' multi-tasking micromanaging super-mommy martyr thing.

Give me a break, we are ALL busy. You are not the first mom to juggle more than a few things in one day, k?

:rotfl:

Three things I've seen here that I agree with that I didn't mention before:

Uggs: Stupid and VERY Uggly.
Excessive pink on girls: It's just silly looking, it reminds me of the commercial where the guy is obsessed with lime green and even has to have a lime green car.
Rubber bracelets: Enough already, it's ridiculous to see these little kids with stringy arms who have 10 bracelets that look like they are holding their arms to the ground.

I agree. Filthy rich people begging for money is such a turn-off. I'm not sure it's trendy, as it's been that way forever, it just seems that now they're getting "showier" about it. Blech.

On the right women, thongs and bare midriffs are a good thing so I vote to keep those.

I vote for tatoos (on women), any non-ear piercings (on women), ribbon car magnets, and metrosexual's.

There was just a news story about how Ben Affleck wants us all to keep giving because he thinks we've forgotten that people still need help. Give me a break. Ben, I gave what I could, get off my back. He thinks he's hot because he donated items to an auction - heck, if someone would buy my used socks, I could give more!

Along those same lines, celebrities that live in mansions and ride around in private jets and limos and own yachts telling me not to drive my Blazer because I am polluting. OK, I am the one polluting.....I'd go head to head with them over who pollutes more and uses more energy any day of the week. I don't share Sean Penn's political views, but at least he was down there, knee-high in water, saving lives. The rest of them....lose the limos and the yachts and maybe I won't think you're a hypocrit.

How about those stupid exhausts that all the kids are putting on their cheap little cars that make them sound like motorcycles. Why do you think making your Kia sound like a motorcycle is cool anyway?

I'm really tired of the word "clearly." You hear it a hundred times
a day. Clearly, there must be other words!

Another trend I wish would go away soon is that rapidfire editing of movies, tv, and commercials. I mean the kind where each shot lasts a second or two and then it's onto the next shot. It's dizzying, and it seems like it just must affect the way our brains function . I also am ready for the fad of way too much camera movement to go away - like in The Bourne Supremacy. That just gives me a headache.

Just had to clear this up....you can get an epidural when you have a lumbar tattoo. I know quite a few women who already have. (friends are tatttoo artists). :teeth:

Your 100 percent sure about this? My friend's father who is a retired anesthesiologist will not even attempt to inject a needle through "inked" skin...

But, to each his own, better safe than sorry. He's the kind of person who loves doing things his way.

Oh my god... the horrendous fart can. Most people think it's "cool" to have a huge exhaust when you have a car where it actually will hurt performance. Thank the movie "The Fast and the Furious" for that.

Have not read the whole thread but I say, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, etc.

I am not sure what decade this was trendy, but older woman who wear way too much perfume. Sometimes, I feel like the smell will attach to me and I have the "old lady scent".

Here are mine:

Low-rise Jeans

Rubber bracelets

Magnetic ribbons on cars

The sack purses covered in glittery confetti type things that EVERYONE is carrying here lately.

OH GEEZ! YESSSSS! I am so sick of those things. ON our car trips from Tampa to WDW, we'd count them...and lose track. Enough already!!!

No ribbons, but a big :thewave: for the sparkley purses!!!

Use of the word heart instead of love and spelling with numbers. It's really not gr8.
