I am struggling to think of the last time I heard someone talk about video games- clearly many people do? How does this even come up? What kind of games? Never had an unprompted conversation about them, and am really curious how that could happen frequently enough to annoy so many people!

DS and DH both play on-line army games, so they discuss strategy, "levels", etc.

It doesn't annoy me, though - I just sort of tune out the conversation and let them carry on.

Same. The only people I know who do are my nephews and it’s seconds. My husband plays but we have never had a discussion about games.

It's my kids talking about video games. About how many points they scored, or some new level achieved, or that they got a "rare animal" on Animal Jam and what it looks like. That sort of thing

Mine discuss Mario characters to death. Which is their favorite, best way to beat a level, the history of each character, the history of the game console, and the order and which console every game came out.

Sports.....all of them. My dh loves, loves, loves football, baseball and hockey. Sometimes he talks about how the game was played or which player did what. I try to listen but really have not interest what so ever.

Birth stories. I don't soon after someones giving birth, but just when the topic comes up and women get into theirs, how long they pushed, how long labor was, blah blah blah. Hearing the same thing over and over with really only slight variation is just not interesting, but everyone seems to think their story is interesting or special.

People that complain about Disney prices, but always have to preface it by saying "I could afford it but..........." Really could you? It's perfectly OK to say you can't afford a 15k DCL cruise in Europe or a 700 a dollar a night room at the Poly. Most people can't.

On the boards:
rides/attractions/foods that used to be in the parks but have been gone for years
stories of random upgrades (I mean, good for you, but....)
Threads about notorious crimes or trials


Yikes, I sound like a grouch....I actually like a lot of topics (restaurants and food, travel in general, cruising, tv shows like House Hunters, Project Runway, Top Chef, the royal family, genealogy, new rides and attractions coming to the parks, Disney behind-the-scenes stuff...)

I have 3 teen boys and video games are the topic of every dinner. Me and DH tune them out and have our own conversation on the side.
