Help!! I leave in 5 days and I am having such a hard time deciding what to pack. What type of clothes should I bring? Thanks for your help

Bring lots of layers. The weather this time of year is very unpredictable. You are going to have to bring a variety of everything. I would bring mostly long pants and a variety of long sleeve and short sleeve shirts. Bring a jacket too just in case. It's been cool lately.:thumbsup2

Thank you for your help. They're forecasting high 70s. Is it unrealistic to expect to go swimming? Is there a need for sunscreen?

I was wondering the same thing.... we are leaving one week from today.... and I am so confused as to what to pack for me and kids... the layers suggestion sounds like a good one.

We were there last year during the first week of February (around Super Bowl time). The weather was really chilly for some of the days. One day wasn't even out of the 50s! We had to wear long-sleeved t-shirts with a jacket. There were a few days that swimming would have been possible, though.

We leave for our 2008 trip on Saturday. I also have a huge variety of clothes packed...from swimsuits to Capri Jeans to regular jeans to a cardigan sweater. I learned the hard way last year that its better to be prepared than to freeze. Accuweather is predicting mid-70s for the majority of the week. I'm hoping that its more Capri-type weather. We are hoping to use the pool at our resort, too.

Good luck packing!

We leave on Friday and packing has been hellish.

I've packed for the kids -- they have never had so many options in their lives. For each day I have packed them shorts, pants, long-sleeve and short-sleeve jerseys. They have no clothes left in their drawers and I'm lucky they wear uniforms to school or they would be naked right now!

I have to pack my suitcase tonight. Yikes! :scared: Although I guess I should be happy there isn't much call for business suits in the MK - my colleagues appreciate me coming to work clothed. :rotfl:

I knew it would be a challenge to pack. I didn't appreciate how much of a challenge until I actually started. We are taking twice the amount of luggage we normally travel with. I've pulled out suitcases that I haven't even seen in 3 years.

We are leaving the winter coats at home (although that will be difficult since they are forecasting - 11 F the morning we are leaving to much bulk to bring them though) and travelling with down vests and fleeces. I figure we will use the fleeces everyday and the vests can be there for back-up. I'm also packing light mitts for everyone.

We expect to swim.

This is my big problem... we are only going for four days this time and DH has ordered me to pack light. Four people are limited to two large and one small case. The small case is already full with things I need for the baby (wipes, diapers, cups, snacks, water). Granted the kids clothes are small but I am still finding it hard to bring what we need with this case limit. He really wants a "hassel free" experience in the airports and we do always over pack. I like to be prepared but I would like to stop bringing home half the stuff we packed that we never touched. Also, we have the washer/ dryer in our DVC unit so we can wash something if we need it again.

Long story short, I want to be prepared and pack heavy. DH wants to pack light and hope for the best. What is a girl to do?:confused3

Do what I do: Leave DH at HOME!! :rotfl: That way there's more room for the stuff YOU need!!!:lmao:

Ditto with the others regarding the unpredictability of the weather. We were there 12/29 thru 1/2. When we got there the high was 86. When we left they were issuing freeze warnings. On New Year's day evening the temp was at 49 degrees with 20 mph winds. IT WAS COLD! So, my suggestion would be to bring a mix, otherwise you might end up buying jackets and other items at the park like I saw so many others doing that night.

Enjoy your trip!!

Hello-
I leave in 11 days and I am already packed. (Can you tell I am excited??) I brought a mixture of things: swimsuit>capris>long pants>sweaters>sweatshirt>t-shirts>turtlenecks>gloves/scarf>flipflops. I will be wearing my coat on the plane. I think I have all of my bases covered for anything!

I leave Friday, too, and I'm totally overpacking! I have no clue what I'm going to wear every day. I"m taking sandals, sneaker, gloves, earmuffs, and bathing suits! :scared1: I feel like a total idiot, but I want to have everything. I plan to wear my warm jacket on the plane (I'll stuff it in the overhead) so I have it with me. I have jeans, shorts, and capris for me, those zip-off pants for DH and pants and shorts for DS. Sweatshirts and fleeces for everyone and laundry detergent in case we have to wear some clothes over again! I thought going in January would be a great idea weather and crowd-wise, but this packing thing is making me INSANE! I'd much rather pack for May or September trip when I KNOW it will be hot and humid! :rotfl:

I'm having a problem with packing too because I don't really trust the weather report so far in advance. If it really is in the high 70's every day with lows in the high 50's I won't really need any winter clothes. If I go without them though, I just know there's going to be a freak snow storm out of the blue. If I do bring them, it will probably be really hot the whole time. I guess it's better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I've decided on jeans with either long or short sleeve tops and summery shoes for during the day. I'll take a light jacket too in case of wind or air conditioning. If it gets really cold I'll just go back to the hotel to change into my sweater and a heavier jacket or coat with my boots. I'm also bringing hats, gloves and scarves because of how cold I was last year.

I went the first week of December last year and we had only one really warm day. I was sweating at AK. The rest of the week was really cold though. I had to buy a wool hat in Epcot. I had tights under my jeans, extra socks, several sweaters and a jacket, plus a scarf and gloves. The wind at night was so strong I was chilled.

:rotfl2: Great idea, wish I'd thought of it. Have you considered shipping ahead? You could always follow his advice and if you need extra clothes purchase them. Then he'd realize that overpacking is better than spending $$$ for clothes you could have just brought from home.

We leave in 40 hours!!! I have so much stuff! But now I'm thinking I should add tights. We'll be at the P&PP Saturday night and I'd hate to be cold.

My parents just returned from CA and they wore their winter coats to the airport, put them in a duffle bag and checked it with their luggage. However they did carry it on the plane coming home...good thing since one of their bags didn't make it home with them.

Reminder to all....DON'T pack all of your stuff in one suitcase. My mom did and that is the suitcase that is missing. :sad2: Divide your stuff up between the suitcases just in case.........

oh, now that is an idea.... buy clothes there. I like it!:thumbsup2
