Okay, just back from a trip so what am I doing? Planning the next one of course!!!! Anyway, I need help from you veterans...what do you wear for an early December trip? Is it still shorts weather? Jeans and sweatshirts? Somewhere in between? :confused3

Girlfriend...pack them all.

Early December can be 40-80 degrees. Last year we left the hotel at 8am with the temp at 44degrees, warmed up to 82degrees throughout the day. I suggest you dress in layers! :thumbsup2

Absolutely right- We had one Christmas week trip where I had a light tank top, tee shirt, sweater and suede winter lined Mickey jacket, gloves and hat on one day and a bathing suit betting a tan two days later. The second trip we had light weight clothes just about every day but needed long pants and a sweatshirt when the sun went down. This is where having the washer and dryer available is great as you really do need a bigger selection and the ability to layer so you can add and remove as needed. Am already thinking about what to pack and haven't done the long Sept trip yet. Hope you have a great time planning and an even more wonderful trip.

Our last early Dec trip this past December... it was cold... cold in the morning, cold all day, no sun, just gray clouds high of 55 all week, except the day we arrived (80) and the day we left (85)

I'm so happy you posted. I was going to ask the very same ?. Thanks to all who answered!! We are bringing the kids zip off pants. So glad we are at SSR so a quick change at dinner is only a bus ride away!!
Have a good one.

Yep pack everything. It can be very nice during the day but downright chilly at night. This coming from a Michigander even.

We have had years where the entire trip we wore pants and sweatshirts. Then the very next year we were in tank tops and shorts. Followed by a combo of both.

I too always overpack for early December trips - mixture of shorts, Jeans, t-shirts, sweaters - and do also take a warm jacket for the evenings.

One word - Layers.

We bring polo tops, sweatshirts and a windbreaker jacket. All, or some combination of the above will take care of any temperature extreme you're likely to encounter. And yes, the temps are highly variable. We've got pictures from one December where we are in shorts on one day, and everything we brought a couple of days later.

All of the above and maybe on the same day. One of the challenges of December travel is how much more stuff you need to bring with you.

This past December we were in shorts and t-shirts a couple of days and wore fleece pullovers, hats and mits to MVMCP.

I agree with the layers tip. Most days we started out wearing a sweatshirt over a t-shirt. By mid-morning the sweatshirts were in the backpack or a locker.

Lots of layers. We were there the second week of Dec last year. I was able to wear capris and a t shirt during the day but needed a fleece jacket and a hat at MVMCP. DH made it in the pool one day but I was just in shorts. I think the highest was about 74 and much cooler in the evenings.

Last December, I wore my winter coat and gloves to MVMCP! The day before we were in shorts and t shirts.

And people around you will be dressed in all kinds of things, depending on where they're from. I can still remember meeting a couple from Canada (Hi, Sam!) and asked in an Email, "How will I recognize you?" "We'll be the crazy Canadians wearing shorts and T-shirts". Sure enough-and I had a long sleeved shirt, long jeans, and a light unlined jacket.

Ha, that reminds me of one of our days at Epcot last December. I was in shorts and a T-shirt since it was quite comfortable that day- low 70's I'd guess. We went on a behind the scenes tour in the Land building and found a group of Floridians there dressed like I would dress at home in WI in early spring- heavy jackets, long pants, gloves, etc. I was roasting just looking at them!

Everyone has given good advice so far, bring EVERYthing. WI's famous for our easily changing weather but it has nothing on Florida in early December.

We usually end up changing clothes often in early Dec. We start out in jeans and sweatshirt, can often end up in shorts for the afternoon, and back to long pants and a jacket in the evening. If it is cloudy, it can be downright cold! Layers is the way to go.

Shorts or jeans with a tshirt and a sweatshirt to layer each day. It's easy enough to throw a load of laundry on in the evening so you don't have to pack 5 suitcases. The key is layer, layer layer. You never know what to expect.
It's a beautiful time to experience WDW!
