What to wear to O'Hana ??

DH and I are going to be at WDW in December for our first ever visit. (I am just soooo excited !!) We are going to be with our children and grandsons and have reservations for O'Hana on the first night we come in. I am in the process of planning my packing and would like to know if anyone can tell me what is the accepted attire for dinner at O'Hana. Are jeans acceptable, or should we wear something dressier?? Thanks in advance...

You can wear jeans and whatever - it was very casual the last five times I was there. You can always wear a hawaiin shirt if you want to feel a little more festive

We've been twice and wore our park clothes (shorts and shirt, tennis shoes). Didn't see anyone especially dressed up.

I think you'd be just fine in jeans.

I always wear my white capris, hawaiin blouse and a lei.

It's very casual. Last time I wore shorts and a Hawainn shirt.

Ohana is very much come as you are. I would imagine they might turn you away in a bathing suit, and shows and shirt are required, but otherwise anything goes.

Most of what I've seen has ranged from theme park casual to resort casual.

I haven't eaten there, but I've eaten at Kona Cafe next door many times, and they more or less share a waiting area.

While you can wear anything to 'Ohana, I think it's fun to see Hawaiian shirts and other tropical-looking attire at the Polynesian restaurants. Not that it's a requirement by any means, it's just something fun to do. I try to save our most tropical-looking shirts for our visits to the Poly.

It is casual. This trip I am going to have my dd4 wear her grass skirt and my ds6 wear his tropical shirt. My dd was dancing all around last time. Soooo cute. Even cuter after a couple of frozen drinks.

We love wearing our tropical stuff to 'Ohana, and the gift shop does have leis.. Since the gift shops have been redone I am not positive but I think the one downstairs (to the left as you enter the lobby) is where the leis are now. If not, check the shop upstairs to the right. They offer silk leis, not real ones.

This is incorrect information. Most, if not all of the Signature restaurants have implemented business casual dress codes, and we are seeing it more or less enforced. Do not think you can show up in cut offs and a t-shirt to Citrico's and be seated, because you WILL be turned away. (We saw people in cut offs turned away from the California Grill in early October.)

Thank you all so much for the great information! I love being able to have a place to go for advice. Wearing a lei is such a great idea...we will definitely have to make a stop at the gift shop for those for the whole family. Thank you so much for that info Pig Pen, Colleen and Keith. Casual. T-shirt and shorts were the norm.

However, contrary to what someone said above, business casual is required for a lot of signature restaurants such as California Grill. We saw people being turned away for wearing denim shorts.

I sure hope that Disney explains this to people over the phone. not that I plan on eating at one of these dress code eating places, but for those who wish to do so I think Disney should at least explain this over the phone at the time of booking.

Now for the restaurant in France at Epcot that is a signature dinning place. But I don't think there would be a dress code at that place. I can't say for sure, but think about it this place is in Epcot a theme park where lots of people love to wear Tee-Shirt's so I don't see why Disney would make a business casual dress code at that place. I am sure lots of people would not wish to bring a change of clothes with them to eat there lol. But to make sure always call I guess. I myself will not eat at any restaurant in Disney or anywhere else if I have to wear business clothes. I mean it's great if people want to go to these eating places where everyone is dressed up, but it's just not for me. I like to wear my Flower the Skunk tee-shirt's and jeans

There is a dress code at Bistro, but not at Chef's. A former coworker was not seated at Bistro because they weren't in teh stated dress code.

They do tell you over the phone when you make an ADR.

Oh, they definitely did. The CM was very clear what business casual dress was. She even described in detail what was acceptable and what was not.

I think people conveniently decide to ignore CMs and figure they are on vacation and can do whatever they want.
