What to wear to check-in?

Hey guys :)

I've been wondering this for a long time. I know you have to be within the Disney Look, but what exactly is that in terms of clothing and accessories? Does this mean no sandals? I need to know all the details because I certainly don't wanna run into trouble.

I had planned on wearing (yes, I already planned an outfit - nerdy, I know ;)) jeans, casual boots, a polo shirt, and hoop earrings with bangle bracelets. Is there a problem with any of this?

I am also wondering about check-in. I know that we have to be in "look" but I also want to be wearing something that will allow me to be comfortable enough to be moving stuff in.

When I moved in, I kept it comfy and clean...considering you have to move everything into your apartment. lol. Anyways, I wore flip flops, jean capris, and a nice polo t-shirt.

Mostly everyone was in jeans or shorts and a nice shirt. You don't need to be all dressed up for check-in, just don't come with some crazy outfit or tattoos and earrings all over the place.

Very helpful, thanks! :goodvibes

Thank goodness check-in is a casual day (getting everything into the apartments is quite a work-out). I wore shorts and a t-shirt and it was fine. The only thing is that females can't have their shoulders bare (because of the housing ID).

Doesn't matter what you wear on the bottom, but just make sure you wear at least a short sleeved shirt. They taking the photo for your housing ID that day, so if it matters, you might want to make your hair/makeup/whatever looks okay as well. I used a brush while waiting and got laughed at by the photographer, lol.

LOL oh god, i was wondering this also but i was like "I hope we don't have to dress nice because i'm going to be crying all day" But a nice casual will work for me.

I would forego jewelry just to make the moving easier, but then again I can't wear jewelry so it always feels like an encumbrance to me :X

Remember to bring sweatshirts and not have them all packed away. Florida gets cold in January too!

Will I need to make sure that I only have the one set of earrings in or will it be okay to wear both pairs?

I used to live in Tampa, so I know what a Florida winter can be like!!:thumbsup2

it's pretty much cold every night...is that a safe assumption? at least for winter in FL? i mean, i'm used to like less that 20 degrees at night, but are we talking like...40's and 50's at night?

It's in the 40s in the evening right now - and we've already had some record lows and frost. We haven't been into the teens yet, but apparently January is the cold month.

yeah i definitely thought i remembered some nights where it was low 30's, but i couldn't remember for sure. i'm all about cold weather so i find that pretty exciting.

Yes, nights will be chilly for quite some time now. Blame global warming.

Speaking of cold and snow...current CPs...if you're looking for something to do some night, head over to Celebration Town Center and watch the nightly snowfall (free), have some dinner (not free) and wander around the lake or through the shops (free if you don't buy something or get fined for feeding the alligator).
