every cruise i've been on, 2 disney, 1 oasis, 1 breeze, except for the Oasis -i could not tell we were moving on the Oasis at all --ever. I normally get so sea sick. On our 1st cruise it was Disney for 3 nights. I could not hardly walk.. i had taken Dramamine, the sea bands (did not seem to help me), and their Dr. said i could also take Bonine since the drug was different than Dramamine, but it did not help at all. I was so miserable and all i could do was lay down the first afternoon and night. Luckily i ate right when we got on the ship so i did get to eat something, but i was bummed to miss dinner. I tried my best to walk up to the Animator's Palette but we had to turn around. Anyway, i was perfectly fine the rest of the trip. Once we got up the next day i was WAY better, and enjoyed Atlantis, and the rest of the trip. They rescheduled my dinner rotation so that we could go to Animator's Palette, which was nice. So for the next
Disney cruise i asked my doctor for the sea sick patch that you put behind your ear.. i doubt they are for kids, but that helped a lot. I still felt sick the first day though, but i was able to function. Then on the Oasis I never got sick but i was wearing the patch again. That ship was great. Then on the recent Breeze, i wore the patch but the first night was bad. I laid down most of the evening and scraped myself off the bed to go to dinner, which i just attended b/c i had an upset seasick tummy. They gave me crackers and ginger ale, but i could barely stand to nip a bite. For the rest of the trip though i was fine. It was just that first night... getting my "sea legs," i think the expression must mean. DD1 at the time seemed fine with no medication (of course), and so was DH as always never bothered him. So i share with you that if the kids or you gets sea sick on the first night, don't panic and think the rest of the trip will be like that, hopefully you get your sea legs and are just fine. If they are you can get Bonine for free if you go to the front desk, or you can pay to go to their on ship doctor to get the patch for about $100. Personally it felt like i was the only one sea sick and everyone around me was having a blast. Most likely you will all be fine and have a great time, best wishes!
